About this listen
Just when it seems like Meg Walton can get back to business as usual running the family's donut shop, another murder occurs in the once-sleepy town of Enchanted Bay.
This time, a double-crossing carpet salesman turned theater owner is the victim. As a witch, Meg has unique abilities to investigate the case, but she'd prefer to leave the sleuthing to the cops.
All that changes when the police suspect one of Meg's friends as the possible killer. Meg knows she can't stand idly by. In order to prove her friend's innocence, she decides to find the real killer herself.
Can she crack this case and save her friend without the town finding out her secret that she's a witch?

Story
Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Story
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Story
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

Fun Cozy Mystery
Meg has learned to love playing amatear sleuth. The series continued but they can be stand alone. You now have another murder in Enchanted bay.Meg is now spending a lot of time with her boyfried Detective Connor. They are working a lot together to find the killer. She uses a little witchcraft but has to keep it secret, her boyfriend does't know she is a witch. The characters are believable and likable with a little clean romance. Meg does simple witcradt like open doors, find clues the police may have missed. You have a talking cat, nonfattening donuts. You will have to get the book to see who did it. LainievPahos doe the narration and carries it good. Enjoy!

Then a few hours later her mother comes in the work telling her about all the police cars in front of the home of the man who bought the playhouse and cancelled the play. Now Meg's friend is a suspect and Meg is on the job investigating with her boyfriend Connie.

Great Read
Ax to Grind (The Witches of Enchanted Bay #2) by Amelia Morgan was another great read in the series. Just as Meg starts getting comfortable in her routine again, another murder happens. I have absolutely loved reading Meg and Connor's search for the killer. I cant wait to read more of Enchanted Bay's happenings.

Good story but very similar to book 1
I really like the Witches of Enchanted Bay, but Ax to Grind was a little too similar to the first book. It repeated several bits so that I had to check to make sure that I as reading book 2.

Who dunnit?
Sort of a run of the mill mystery, mainly made-up of questioning suspects. Narrator is pretty good.

FUN & QUICK PARANORMAL WITCH COZY
AX TO GRIND is the second book in the Witches of Enchanted Bay series. These are best read in the order of release.
This is a fun and quick read/ listen that is perfect for road-trips with the family. You don’t have to worry about foul language or over-taxing who-dunnits… just fun clues from a non-fat donut (sic) making witch and her detective boyfriend.
Could I please have the recipe – or secret power – to make the no-calorie treats?
I love reading everything from Dr. Seuss to Mr. Grey. I enjoy books like this when I want to just relax. Suspend reality – after all how is one play written decades ago going to support the playwright, a theater, and all of the actors for all of those years in a small town – and enjoy this cozy witch mystery.
Narration: Lainie Pahos is a sweet narrator. Her name on a book is a reason to pick it up.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
