  • The Red Sox rebounded nicely from Monday night's blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Rays and evened up the series with their 7-4 victory Tuesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida. Alex Bregman had a night going 5-for-5 with a Double, 2 Home Runs and 4 RBIs. The Red Sox scored in each of the 1st 4 Innings and hit 3 Home Runs in a game for the 2nd time this season. Zack Kelly 2 runs in the 9th inning after working 2 perfect innings with 4 strikeouts. He was pulled after allowing a 2-out, RBI single to Yandy Diaz. Aroldis Chapman entered and retired the only hitter he faced to close out the game. -----Strong Start: The Red Sox jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against Ryan Pepiot and the Rays. Alex Bregman got the Red Sox on the board in the 1st-Inning with an RBI Single. In the 2nd, Carlos Narvaez reached on a 2-out single and the next hitter Jarren Duran hit his 1st Home Run of the season to make it 3-0. Alex Bregman led off the 3rd with a Home run and later in the inning Ceddanne Rafaela made it 5-1 with a 2-out, RBI Single. Alex Bregman knocked in another run and made it 6-1 with an RBI Double in the 4th Inning. -----Walker's Outing: Walker Buehler improved to 2-1 on the season in helping the Red Sox even up their 3-Game Series against the Rays. Buehler went the 1st 5 Innings and gave up 2 runs. Buehler walked 3 and struck out 3 and exited with a 6-2 lead after 5 Innings. Buehler left 2 runners on base in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th. The Red Sox are now 3-1 in Buehler's 1st 4 outings of the season.-----999 & Counting: Rafael Devers played in his 999th game with the Red Sox Tuesday night. He will become the 31st player to appear in 1,000 or more games for the Red Sox. Devers has hit 201 Home Runs over his 1st 998 games. Mo Vaughn, Ted Williams, Jim Rice & Devers are the only players with 200 or more Home Runs in their 1st 1,000 games played. -----#'s of the Night: The Red Sox are now 3-6 over their last 9 games after winning 5 in a row. The Red Sox have homered in 3 straight games after going 6 straight games without going Yard. The Red Sox tallied (12) hits in Tuesday night's win and ended a streak of 8 straight games without collecting 10 or more hits. -----Kristian Update: Campbell went 0-for-5 Tuesday night and had his streak of reaching safely in his first 17 career games come to an end. Campbell has 6 multi-hit games and has reached multiple times in a game 9 times this season. Campbell started in the Outfield for the 4th time this season and for the 3rd time in Centerfield in Monday night's opener. -----What's On Tap?: The Red Sox and Rays conclude their 1st series of the season Wednesday night. The Sox have listed TBD for their starter in the team's Game Notes for the finale on Wednesday. The 2 clubs will not play again until June when the Rays come to Boston for a 3-game series. The Red Sox do not return to Tampa until September. The Red Sox have a scheduled day off on Thursday and open up a 7-game homestand with the 1st of 4 against the White Sox on Friday. The Red Sox will also host the Mariners for a 3-game series on the backend of the Homestand. -----Red Sox Trade: The Red Sox traded Pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive balance pick (#33) in the 2025 MLB Draft and a player to be named later or cash considerations on Monday. Rodriguez was touted as the 7th-best prospect in the Brewers system according to MLB Pipeline. He’s 19 and started this season off at the Advanced-A Level. Priester was acquired from the Pirates last July for infielder Nick Yorke.
