About this listen
Hi, I'm Corey Bellis. For 10 years, I battled drug addiction. It started with a pain pill in high school and quickly spiraled into heroin use after graduation. I couldn’t stop on my own—only arrests, detox, or rehab could slow me down. I remember one night, in the middle of my addiction, I cried out to God: “God, help me.” The next day, I was arrested. That moment changed everything. Although I relapsed nearly a year later, it only lasted a few weeks before I was ready to fight for my sobriety again—with more focus, more purpose, and God’s strength.
Today, I’m celebrating 6 years clean and sober as of April 19, 2025. In those 6 years, I’ve earned a college degree, bought a home, and started a beautiful family. We’re proud members of Hickory Grove Church of the Brethren, and I give all the glory to God—He truly saved my life. If you’re struggling with addiction or know someone who is, please know this: there is hope, and recovery is possible. Don’t give up.
