A new McKell Institute paper, co-authored by CEO Edward Cavanough, is calling for a major shake-up of capital gains tax (CGT) to boost housing supply and help Australia reach its 1.2 million homes target by 2030. Cavanough stresses that policymakers must "stop seeing capital gains tax as some kind of grand moral question" to break the housing crisis stalemate.
