The last thing I expected was my wolf to mark a complete stranger; a stranger who’s in my woods, hunting the same rogue.

Venus Conner is the only she-wolf alpha in the British Columbia region, which means she's not just a mate target for those in her pack but the surrounding wolves in other packs who want the Luno role. Thing is, her wolf's not interested in any of them, and the law is, the wolf chooses the partner. Venus doesn't technically have a say in it...it's complicated. Now, there's a rogue running loose in the east Kootenay woods of which she is the alpha of; this wolf is a threat because he's gunning for her. Rogues can be much stronger that wolves that are not, plus, they generally don't shift from wolf to human anymore, but this one does.

Marcus Reins is a magic user sent out to east Kootenay to deal with a rogue wolf; normally, one of the weres or vampires would deal with this situation except, two are tied up with newborns, and the other three have other cases. Marcus Reins is his real name, and because he's one of the first of his kind, no one can use his name to control him, so, he doesn't care who knows his name. While keeping hidden in the woods, Marcus comes across a black wolf; jumping from his tree perch, he blocks the wolfs' way; little did he know, that would entice the wolf to bite him, and not in a way he expected.
