About this listen

A year after US expat lawyer Glenn Murray Cohen helped drive the Brooklyn Mafia out of Bangkok, he expected to spend the rest of his life as a refined and affluent hedonist. His new NJA Club friends, Michel and Jing, share Glenn's love of French cinema, good coffee, and strong weed. Then Glenn realizes that he really does not know anything about Michel, and when he asks questions, he is followed by a scary-looking fellow, seduced by Jing, and warned that his life is in danger. The NJA Club gang comes to Glenn's aid, as they struggle to make sense out of a series of seemingly disconnected mysteries. Another exotic noir thriller by a master of the genre. Humans may be safe for awhile

Listening to this ‘narrator’ drone on like a computer was so horrible that I could barely make it through Chapter 1. No change in voice tone or intonation to differentiate between characters was so distracting that I just had to stop.

So I guess the job of ‘human narrator’ is safe for now, thank goodness. On this book the score is Humans 1, AI 0.
