About this listen

 I didn't start writing till I was in my seventies. Neglectful parents and two abusive husbands kept me from ever pursuing any interests. The first three decades of my life were spent just trying to survive. By 1971, I was trying my best to make a better life for myself and my children. I had the audacity to be a single mother and also believe that I could obtain a college degree. since society holds the ideal of marrying your soul mate, once a relationship fails it is believed they did something wrong. In some cases, single parents had no control over the outcome of their relationship. These essays attempt to explore the psychologic, emotional and spiritual reasons for the path I took.
As a young adult, a major pattern of self-destructive choices began to emerge. A major portion of my life was spent uncovering, forgiving, resolving that pattern. I still had decades to live before I would recognize what that pattern meant. The intention of writing the bare unadorned truth of my life in my first book "Raised by Wolves Trapped by Demons" was to be an example for other women. To reveal to other marginalized women to never give up. Anyone can weather post-traumatic stress and psychological issues if they have the will to live. The will to keep living life no matter what it would generate.
This is a book of traumatic experiences and reflections. I hope relating to others trauma and abuse will bring healing to the reader.
These true stories are an array of abusive and sometimes disturbing events. Possible triggers might exist if you have been a victim of domestic or child abuse. It might be hard to read but hopefully my observations will be helpful to those that are lost. The Reflections page at the end of each chapter is where you can write whatever may come up for.
