About this listen

I didn’t catch the bouquet, but at forty, I caught something better—
My fated mate.

When my childhood best friend asked me to be her bridesmaid,
I didn’t realize that meant spending a week on a yacht
With her obnoxious, conceited new friends.
Sounds like a trip from hell for a 40-year-old shifter witch—
Until my inner bobcat zeroes in on her mate on board.
The captain just so happens to be a bear shifter,
And when primal need draws us closer,
I end up getting a private tour of the captain’s quarters.
When the wedding’s suddenly called off at the altar,
The cruise is cut short,
But Jace asks me to spend the week at his place.
The more I get to know him, the deeper I fall for him.
Too bad I’ve always wanted to have kids,
And Jace is done raising his.
But that’s nothing compared to the storm brewing ahead.
When a dark witch from my past wants revenge,
I’m forced to use all the magic I can muster to save myself—
And the new life growing in my belly.

Steamy shifter love scenes and a HEA inside! No cheating or cliffhanger in this standalone romance. Listeners 18+.

Love at sea

I have loved every story by this author and this one is no exception. Her writing allows the characters to come to life and before I know it I am hooked on the story. There is something about the alpha males and their mates that keeps me coming back for one more book. Erin is on a week-long cruise to see her best friend get married, what she did not count on was drama at the wedding and meeting her mate. Jace is the captain of the ship and has captured Erin's heart. These two have a journey to get to their happy ending.

Fun, passionate, and entertaining!

This is the third book in the Shifter Nation: Destined Over Forty series, a paranormal romance. I like this series! Jace and Erin's story is fun, entertaining, passionate, and engaging, filled with danger, and twists and turns. D.C. Cole did an excellent job bringing these characters and this story to life. I enjoyed it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It's Good

This one was a wild and entertaining installment in the Destined Over Forty series from Meg Ripley. It's well-written and entertaining with a little bit of drama, and a satisfying HEA. The narration was good and worked for both male and female characters, so that was enjoyable.

Jace and Erin

Story: Bobcat shifter Erin (h) never expected to be the one to ruin her childhood friend’s wedding, but when she catches the groom cheating, she can’t stay silent. Now, with her oldest friendship in shambles and a yacht full of judgmental rich guests glaring at her, Erin just wants to escape. The only bright spot? Jace (H), the rugged, no-nonsense captain who seems to see her for who she really is. Bear shifter Jace has spent years focused on raising his son and running his business, but the moment he meets Erin, everything shifts. His bear knows she’s his mate, even if she isn’t ready to admit it. What starts as a casual connection quickly deepens into something undeniable as things heat up between Jace and Erin. But their growing happiness is threatened by something sinister out for revenge. As Erin and Jace fight to protect themselves and the life they’re building, a shocking revelation changes everything, Erin is pregnant. Now, they have more than just their own futures and tough choices to consider.

Audio: Narrator D.C. Cole does a great job with Jace and a good job with Erin's voice - I personally prefer a duet style narrator with both a male and female narrator. The audio quality is good and there were no issues.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the setting, and you can really feel the divide between the rich snobby wedding guests and Erin and Jace. The two of them had great chemistry- even if their first meeting was completely mortifying for Erin. (Omg I probably would have flung myself overboard!) A bobcat shifter and a bear falling in love. The story had drama, suspense, and danger.

D.C. Cole did another great job bringing Meg Ripley's characters to life.

Fated Mates Over Forty

Jace and Erin have awesome chemistry. Jace is the yacht captain who just happens to be a sexy alpha bear shifter. Erin is on the yacht attending one her friend’s wedding and she really doesn’t want to be there. When Erin and Jace meet Jace knows that Erin is his fated mate.

Great Shifter Audiobook

I read the book prior to listening to the audiobook and enjoyed it very much. In fact, out of all Meg Ripley's great shifter books, I believe this one ranks close to the top as one of my favorites. The story itself is so much fun, but D. C. Cole's narration brings it to life. The man is such a talented storyteller. Combined with Meg Ripley's creative stories, the two make for a great reading/listening experience.
