About this listen

Gunslinger Anastasia Thorne won't stay dead.

Ten years ago, monsters murdered Anastasia and her children. Now, she's back to hunt down the monsters responsible. She knows their names, their faces, and even where they're hiding.

There's just one problem. No one in town believes her.

When the sheriff refuses to help, Anastasia strikes a deal with the notorious outlaw, Jesse Gallagher, instead. The pair ride into the mountains in search of vengeance, but the hunters quickly become the hunted. With the sheriff hot on their trail, ghouls on their heels, and werewolves and skin-stealing monsters in the mountains, Jesse and Anastasia quickly find out they're outgunned and in for a long night.

It's going to take more than silver bullets to put these monsters down.

Wow, this is fantastic! Can't wait for #2!

Beasts of Babylon
By: E. A. Copen
Narrated by: Caroline Turner Cole
This book just blew me away! It is raw and tough but the toughest is a gal that was killed, buried and came back to find her killers! She is one scary chick! She isn't normal but she isn't hunting normal either. Her husband, before she died, ( I guess it would be complicated), is the sheriff. The story weaves a band of bank robbers, our tough gal, and the sheriff against things so horrible it gives you chills!
So much suspense, creepy tension, and never knowing who or what will happen next. Not for the faint of heart. I loved it! This got my heart pumping!
The ending was so unexpected and the reader finally finds out what our gal is! Wow!!!
I want the next book now!!!
The narration was brilliant! Great performance! Perfect for this book!
This is going in my favorite folder!!!

A great new start!

A great beginning to a new series! There is gun slinging action from the beginning to the end. The suspense and tension making this one on those books that you cannot put down.
Anastasia Thorne is a kick-ass gun slinger with a take no prisoners attitude. Her need for vengeance defies death and the rules of law. That makes for a complicated relationship with her sheriff husband, Christian, and her outlaw partner, Jesse Gallagher.

The author, E. A. Copen, gives us an American Frontier with some of the deadliest paranormal creatures. Copen’s writing illustrates the roughness, dangers and isolation of living in the wild west. She provides us with complex characters that keep you interested and captivated.

There are the usual ingredients of a wild west story, an outlaw family, a town doctor who is also a vet and barber, a hanging, a conflicted sheriff, innocents killed, and Indians. But Copen adds a darkness that makes this story riveting and more than the usual wild west.

It has been two years since the story was published and a year since it was available to Audible. Therefore, I am hoping the next book will be out soon.

Well ended.

Leaves the listener wanting the next chapter. Despite the narrator’s slow narration the story is well written and moves the characters along the story line.

Great Narration, Adventure through Weird West

I loved this book, and having a female narrator who can pull off male voices is always amazing. I love the Weird West genre, and Beasts of Babylon brings the supernatural, paranormal horror to the new frontier seamlessly.
