About this listen

Prim, proper, classic good girl, and her least favorite label - icy.

Lila Kate Carter has heard them all. The last one, being the newest. She is not icy. She just doesn't care for Cruz Kerrington and his spoiled, selfish, careless ways. That doesn't make her icy, that makes him a jerk!

Tired of being labeled and doing what is expected of her, Lila Kate leaves Rosemary Beach, Florida ready for an adventure. Wanting to recreate herself, find a new path, and become something more.

Eli Hardy is tired of women who always act the same, do the same thing, and expect the same thing. He's ready to swear off women until he can get the rest of his life together.

Two weeks into his no-women-rule he meets Lila. She's so damn sweet and polite. Like she walked right out of an etiquette book. But he'd already been drunk before she walked in so there was a good chance she might not be as stunning and perfect as he thinks. He's just too drunk to worry about that.

The next morning, he swears he can still smell her on his skin. He just can't remember why or what happened after that third dance.

Their worlds are about to collide, and so are the secrets and lies.

I liked this book better than the first in the series because we didn’t have to wait so long for things to start moving.

I really loved Lila’s character. She was timid yes but it was more a quiet strength. She needed to get out of the house and become who she knew she was always meant to be. I really loved that it kind of reminded me a lot of Della.

I was very happy we got to have some of the ole gang in this book more so than the first book. Maybe I was waiting to much to see them older.

The two yes I said two love interests in this book couldn’t be farther from each other in attitude and characters and I love that we don’t’ really know what’s going to happen until it does.

Loved, LOVED the narration. I feel all three did a fantastic job. I can’t wait for more books in this series.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I liked the story for the most part. I thought Lila was a good character until she met up with Cruz on her trip. I loved Eli. I thought he was a great guy, so sweet and caring. I hated Cruz. I thought he was a selfish jerk. I can't believe Lila picked him over Eli. I didn't think Cruz had any redeemable qualities at all. I never read the Rosemary Beach or the Sea Breeze series so I didn't understand some of the side character stuff or some of the family stuff, but I still enjoyed this book. I didn't like the female narrator but the males were alright.

Good

based on the overview, I knew how this book was going go. girl meets boy, they run in to a few issues and live happily ever after. this book was the exact opposite, but still had a happy ending. the narrator's were great and I was so drawn in to the story I didn't realize there were 2 different guys. really great book.

great read with an unexpected twist

The Rosemary Beach and Sea Breeze Kids are all grown up and it makes for some good romantic drama. Lila Kate is a great heroine, Cruz is a bad boy and Eli Hardy is a sweetheart. As they figure out their lives there is a lot of drama and lots of steamy hot sex. I was totally entertained. Glad Abbi Glines made this a series.

So happy the kids grew up!

Well I feel like there needs to be more. It was a good book, but sort of a cliff hanger. It had a very different ending than I thought it was going to have. Narration was just okay for me. I will definitely listen to the next one in the series.

I feel like it needs one more chapter!

Book two in the Rosemary Beach meets Seabreeze series, Because of Lila was long. The book felt dragged out and underwhelming. Lila as a character is predictable and boring. Her attempts at finding herself and being wild just had me rolling my eyes and I'm the type of person who loves me a super cheeseball romance so that's saying a lot. The plot was typical and the characters predictable and the overall book suffered for it. The only saving grace in this book was that we get to see characters we love from the past. Sadly even they were new, mangled versions of the characters we once loved. This book made me want to just go back and read a Rosemary Beach or Seabreeze novel instead.

Okay, so I'm never one to completely dislike a book or say there was nothing good about it, but this book was difficult to find a silver lining. *cries all the tears* I suppose the light at the end of the tunnel was the narrators. Narration was great! Each narrator did such a good job giving life to their respective character. I have to say that narration for Eli's character was my personal favorite. It came off as effortless and real. Definitely two thumbs up for these voice actors.

This book made me miss the old Abbi Glines books.

Although I did enjoy the next generation, it was not as good as the Rosemary beach set.

This book ended way to abruptly, as if the final chapter was left off.

Not Rosemary Beach Good

narrator needs to blow her nose

Very hard to listen as the narrator playing Lila clearly has a cold or something. She sounds congested and like there is phlegm in her throat. Very distracting and gross. Loved this book but very disappointed in the audible.
