About this listen

It’s steamy in the Gulf town of Sea Breeze. Physical attraction is the only way to beat the heat in this start to a series from best-selling, previously self-published author Abbi Glines.

Playboy Cage owns the apartment, and he hosts a revolving door of people, in and out, at all times. Most of them are long-legged hot girls who are never there more than a night or two. When Cage’s new roommate, Marcus, enters the picture, he’s just looking to nurse a broken heart. But there’s one particular semi-frequent regular who catches his eye.

Willow - 'Low' - is the one Cage wants to marry. But the two of them are night and day, and Marcus can’t see how Low puts up with all of Cage’s womanizing. What she really needs is a real man....like good-looking and sensible Marcus. But that’s going to get real complicated and real messy - real fast.

Surprisingly good

First, I hadn't heard of this author before; second, I do not typically like college-aged protagonists; but, I was surprised to find I liked both the author and the characters. I cannot say the author wrote a profound story, but the plot was fine, the writing competent, and the character development about right. I will try this author again.

Same Story. Different Names

By now I feel like everyone should know that once you've read an Abbi Glines novel, you've read them all. An innocent girl with a troubled past meets a boy who changes her world and makes her question her worth.
Not my favorite, but this one was WAY better than the first book of the Sea Breeze collection.

Spoilers ahead
I disliked Willow. and this has been the first time I disliked one of Abbi's main characters. I felt like she was way too judgemental of her sister's choices which were none of her business and she had no backbone to stand up to her. And then there's whole thing with Cage... now I understand he did not treat her very well either. But when she started Marcus and had the NERVE to freak out over losing Cage, I about lost my s***!! I'm like you do NOT have the RIGHT to get upset over this man's moving on. She basically kept Cage as he yoyo which is not any better than what he was doing to her.
Now Marcus... I was big time for their relationship until he thought she betrayed him and without so much as hearing her out dares to utter "I hate you." !!!??? "I never want to see you again." !!!??? She forgave him which was okay but to take him back?!?! H*LL NOOO.
But whatever. they're in love or something. It was nice to see Marcus with somebody since he was such a likable character in the last book.

Narrators did a great job. I'm quite a fan of Shayna Thibodeaux. I don't care that much to listen to Kirby Heyborne, but I don't dislike him enough to where it takes away from the listening or the story.

Very YA! Story isn't bad

Okay, so this series is VERY YA!! I didn't realize when I got the first 2. This book reminded me very much of high school, I don't really care what side of the tracks everyone grew up on, sometimes it does make a difference, but the "rich kids" have crap too, that got quite old. A lot of the story is very predictable but mostly cute. Just 1 sex scene and not overly hot, so...young college maybe?

Wow!

I am falling in love with the Seabreeze Series all over again. Marcus and Willow were amazing in this book.... On to the next Seabreeze book.

Drama filled!

Marcus and Willow's story is filled with drama! It's awesome! There are some jaw dropping, oh sh*t moments, where you are simply stunned :)
One of the best in the series.... Add it to your cart!

better than the first

I enjoyed the first Sea Breeze novel, but this one definitely resonated more.
loved it.
The voices for these books are wonderful too. They keep you engaged in listening just as much as the story.

YA Well Done!

I have come to enjoy YA even though I am not a YA. They have their good and not so good points. This book is very well done, great characters with a lot of story around them, good narration (this is just personal to me but I don't care for the gentleman that narrated; great as a guy but hate his girl voices) anyway, nothing should get in the way of the story and nothing does. It is a rich plot with twists I never saw coming. YA books tend to move a little slower but I just had to know what happened to these characters. For me no matter what the genre that is the mark of a good story. Well done and thank you!

Loved the story - had some difficulty with the reading

The female voice was great. The male voice sounded much too old to be a 21 year old.

¡Muy Bueno!

Any additional comments?

The narrators did a fabulous job narrating this story. I love Kirby's accent but they both did a wonderful job bringing the story to life. I was immediately captivated by Marcus and Low was just such a sweetheart it was hard not to like her. And Cage... Despite his manwhore ways...he really did love Low and was a great friend to Her. I wished I had a friend like him in my life! Great story!
