Publisher's summary

So, she's made a career of it. She thought she had struck gold a few years back when she was lucky enough to get pregnant by Devon Wright. She knew they'd get married, he would take care of her and her baby, and she'd be set for life. What Shauntae didn't know was that it's much harder to keep a man than it is to catch him. Now she's lost custody of the child and the child support check and has to go back to hustling.

Shauntae is lucky enough to get herself pregnant by Gary Jackson. She knows she has to figure out how to be a good wife to Gary and a good mother to their child to keep herself in his big, fancy house and his big, fancy car. She has to learn to talk "proper" and say all the right things at the right time. The absolute worst thing is that Shauntae must learn how to be a "church girl."

When issues with Gary's ex-wife and kids threaten Shauntae's "get married and stay married" plan, it's actually God that helps her out. Shauntae decides that instead of hustling God, she might want to get to know Him. But can an ex-hustler really shed her old ways and become a true Christian, and a good wife and mother?

Pretty Good

I like how this story played out. At first I thought that this book had nothing to do with Christian fiction, but I did like how she turned her life over to God & find herself during the process instead of being who everyone told her to be.

Slow to catch your attention!!

THE book was overall good. It started off boring but toward the middle of the storyline it got very interesting. I love how the main character expected Jesus Christ in her life and how the narrator brought the main character to life!!

Lovely story of true Christian whirlwind

As a Christian I find it hard to find real stories. Find it hard to find stories that are relatable. This story encompass the up and down of a relationship with Christ the struggle of overcoming ratchetness, self discovery, self forgiveness, and truly understanding Christ love and forgiveness through various circumstances.

Which scene was your favorite?

Where she said "You don't get to call me what I used to be!" POWERFUL

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

From Hustle to Heaven.

Awsome book

Would you listen to Becoming Mrs. Right again? Why?

I would listen to this book over and over again. I was upset at Shauntae with the tricks she and her "GIRLS" played on men. However the book proved that people can CHANGE with the help of GOD.I hoped Sherice would have changed from her scamming ways and care free mom attitude. Gary was such a great father and husband wish more men were like him LOL :)Devon was also a great dad Shauntae made him bitter and that was understandable.Gary ex wife was very bitter and selfish, she only changed when she came to near death. If Gary had gotten back with her the relationship would be the same as the pass.

What about Lynnette Freeman’s performance did you like?

The narrator did a beautiful job in changing voices. Brianna and Morgan voice was beautifully done.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Look What the lord has done.

Any additional comments?

The book is awesome and should teach girls in that situation to remember that they can't go wrong with Jesus!

Good - Worth A Listen

Would you consider the audio edition of Becoming Mrs. Right to be better than the print version?

Interesting story about a woman trying to be everything that she is not, while improving who she really is in the process. However, lies catch up to you when you least expect it (as with anyone). This was not one of my favorites, but it kept me asking, what's going to happen next???? Good book, check it out.

What other book might you compare Becoming Mrs. Right to and why?

Not sure what I would compare this book too, it was the first Sherri Lewis book I read.

Which character – as performed by Lynnette Freeman – was your favorite?

Main character was my favorite, she experienced the most, and showed the most growth throughout the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Book places emphasis on the fact that if God can forgive us for our sins, why is it so hard to forgive each other...and when do you draw the line when someone continues to do wrong or lies to you...

Any additional comments?

Starts a little slow, but will keep your interest.

Romans 8:28

Becoming Mrs. Right by Sherri Lewis
Amazon Headline: Romans 8:28
Life is messy; can we ever get it right? We can’t but God can turn things around for those who love Him by intercession of the Holy Spirit.
We do what we know, and if we don’t know better how do we become better? If you are Shauntae you reach out to your girls, study Clare Huxtable and keep it moving, that is until your heart begins to speak a different language. Talk, think and act right ummm is it really important or is being who you are enough.
Take a look at life or better yet at Shauntae’ she used the characters on television to help her become who she thought she was supposed to be, and then she pretended to know the Lord. BUT you better be careful playing around with whose you are because He can certainly make you His for life when you think you’re playing only for a moment.
Becoming Mrs. Right was an outstanding read filled with forgiveness, love and growth. We don’t have to learn lessons through hardships; God's Word is for correction and reproof a theme weaved throughout the characters. It’s been a long time that I’ve read/listened to a story and after finishing I wanted to thank the author and hug him/her, this story definitely took me there. I cried, I laughed and I thanked God for LOVING me and all the Shauntae’s in the world.
Are you a Shauntae?

TERRIBLE!!!!!! The Worst Book I've Ever Read

Don't waste your money. I couldn't make it past chapter 7. This book is one of the worst books I've ever read. For starters the main character was 33 years old but the narrator made her sound as if she was 14 & her friends too. I've never heard of an illiterate gold digger. I mean normally they are smart enough to get and keep their man if nothing else. The author should try again because so far it sounds as if this book was written by someone in middle school.
