About this listen

Once upon a time, Luma was a little, brilliant kid in a sky full of flowing clouds and glittering stars. Born from the soft glow of the crescent moon, she was a Moonchild, unlike the other children on Earth. The starry heavens lit her eyes, and her silver hair shined like stars. Luma lived on a little floating island fashioned of moonstone and mist. As she floated over the night sky, she spun dreams for Earth's sleeping children into being. But Luma had a hidden ambition of her own she yearned to see a true bloom. Though she had never touched one, never smelled one, never witnessed one blossom, she had seen images of them in the fantasies she created. One evening she drifted at the edge of the heavens and heard a little voice below. She gazed down and noticed on a lonely mountaintop a solitary bloom with petals that seemed to be faint starlight glows. The rarest bloom in the world, a Starflower was sobbing. "Why are you sad?" Luma whispered as she flew in front of us. "I am the last of my kind," the lovely Starflower replied.
