About this listen
Bella Poldark is the 12th and final audiobook in Winston Graham's sweeping series of Cornwall, Poldark.
Cornwall, 1818. We continue the tale of Ross and Demelza; of the wayward Valentine Warleggan, whose existence keeps open the old wounds of the feud between Ross and George; of Bella, the Poldarks' youngest daughter, whose precocious talent as a singer is encouraged by her old flame, Christopher Havergal, and by a distinguished French conductor who has more in mind than Bella's music; of Clowance, the Poldarks' widowed daughter, who considers remarriage to one of two rival suitors; and of a murderer who stalks the villages of West Cornwall.
"From the very first lines we tingle with the sense that we are in good hands, transported by Graham's atmospheric prose back to 1818 and the treacherous coast of craggy Cornwall." ( Daily Mail)©2017 Winston Graham (P)2017 Macmillan Digital AudioCritic reviews

Story
Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Story
Liv’s happy with life in her thirties. She has two cats, one BFF, and no boyfriend, which is just how she likes it. Plus, she loves working at a not-for-profit software company where she can be her authentically autistic self. This is her happy ever after. But when her beloved firm merges with a repulsive rival, Liv finds herself competing with her sort-of-ex for the top job. Sure, Finn had been Liv’s best friend, with his nerdy good looks and their shared love of Tolkien, but there was that one night, their song, and … well, she doesn’t like to talk about it.

Meet Randi Burnett—she’s brilliant, she’s beautiful, and she works for the bride. Missing groom? Intoxicated in-laws? Crying ring-bearer? You name it, she wrangles it. Too bad her personal life isn’t thriving like her side gig as a bridesmaid for hire. Recently dumped, Randi throws herself into her biggest challenge yet when she’s hired as a maid of honor and pretend best friend for an ice queen bride. There’s just one problem—the best man is infuriating, overprotective, and anti-marriage.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

I'm in mourning.....
Would you listen to Bella Poldark: A Novel of Cornwall 1818-1820 again? Why?
I will listen to this novel and the series probably several more times.
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of them.
Which character – as performed by Oliver J. Hembrough – was your favorite?
Too hard to pick...he did a great job with all of them.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Steven Carrington died. I felt like Clowance was FINALLY sprung from his trap.
Any additional comments?
What am I going to do? In the backstage of my life resides Delmelza, Ross, George, Elizabeth, Dwight, Caroline........Their personalities and thoughts have permeated my mind. The series has ended and I feel a little lost. I look at other books to listen to but it's like breaking up with someone you really liked; no one else comes close. Maybe to ease the seperation I'll go read some Jane Austen......

When is the next book?
I loved this book best of all. I didn’t want it to end. I want to know about Bella and her children and about Ross and Demelza. Will there be more about little George and Henry? Will they be friends like Frances and Ross or will they be like George and Ross? Will Georgie take his rightful name Poldark?

Great books
I didn’t want this to finish as I knew it was the last one and wished that there was one more about the family and what became of them all. But 12 of the best books I have ever listened to

Poldark series
The Poldark series 8-12 is a must listen for fans of the recent BBC Poldark series. In fact, the entire Poldark series of 12 books gives a lot of additional details that were not included in the television series. Very enjoyable and the narrator was very good to listen to.

I can't believe it's OVER
I've listened to all 12 books - straight through and watched the 3 seasons of Poldark. When this book ended yesterday I cried! 240 hours of being with the Poldark family ended way too soon. I wish there would have been a nice synopsis of what happened in the future to all the major characters instead of just Bella. This series could go on for a few more books - at least until Ross and Deleza die! Today I feel a homesick like feeling - the first drive to work without them in quite some time.

Continues the Poldark enchantment
I love this series of books. The performance is as always excellent. I cannot imagine anyone else reading this series. The story keeps you wondering what will be next. There are a few surprises along the way too. Clearly this was never meant to be the last book.
