Publisher's summary

Russian sleeper agent, Hannah Miller, has spent nine long years installed within America’s intelligence agencies. When the private plane carrying a secret weapon she and her boss are on is hijacked - her wait to be activated is finally over.

Jack Davis, ex-boyfriend and former Navy SEAL, is sent in. His primary mission is to recover the secret weapon, but he refuses to leave Hannah behind - not when he still has feelings for her. When mounting evidence points to Hannah as a traitor, Jack must decide where to place his trust. Aiding her could risk his career, but betraying her risks his heart.

When Hannah is framed for murder, Jack convinces her to work with him in a scheme that will reveal the true culprit, unmasking a corruption that has reached some of the highest levels of US government.

Suspenseful, and Unpredictable!

This is the third novel in the Gray Ghost Series, a Romantic Suspense. Hannah and Jack's second chance to love is highly suspenseful, action packed, filled with mystery, intrigue, secrets, and twists and turns. Hannah is a strong and intriguing character. Her story is heartbreaking. Jack is handsome, supportive, and caring. The supporting characters are great! The world building is intricate, and captivating. Regan Brown did a fantastic job with the narration. Impossible to put it down. This is a great addition to the series. I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listen to Vantage Point, the next book in the Series. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

What a ride

McKinley does it again. I love her books and thoroughly enjoy the depth the audio adds. I thought the narrator did a beautiful job adding some emotional context to the story I was already familiar with. If you love a great story filled with romantic suspense, you will NEVER go wrong with a book (audio or print) by McKinley.

Holy Hannah!

Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
Narrated by Regan Brown
Five Stars

Beneath the Surface is the third book in the Gray Ghost series by Regan Brown. This series keeps getting better and better. This book features Jack and Hannah. The timeline in this book is simultaneous with book two Eye of the Storm. You really should read/listen to this series in order to get the full effect of how all of the characters interact with each other. Hannah is a tough as nails, able to take care of herself kind of girl. Jack is a great match for her and their chemistry is off the charts. I just can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.
Regan Brown has narrated the first three books in this series. She makes the characters pop and her voice is easy to listen to. This was a really pleasurable way to spend time with the guys and gals of Gray Ghost!

What a great series!!

This is the 3rd book in the Gray Ghost series. This is an audio book and is just under 8 hours listening time. This story follows Hannah, a Russian sleeper agent, and Jack, her ex and a former Navy SEAL. She is traveling via plane with a secret weapon when they are hijacked. Enter Jack. He is supposed to be getting the weapon but will not leave without Hannah. He still harbors feelings for her. Fingers start pointing at Hannah at being a traitor. Corruption runs deep and Jack and Hannah need to find out what is going on and fight to clear her name. This was soooo good!

Love!

This is not the type of book I would normally go for, but I am so glad I picked it up! McKinley does a great job at giving readers Romance, Mystery, and some, in my opinion, Thrill. The storyline between Hannah and Jack is addicting. I also love how McKinley gives readers insight into the back story with flashbacks, that help the reader gain a better understanding of Hannah and Jack. 10/10 would read this book again, I feel like it is one that I will keep going back to!

great story

This is the third audiobook in this series that I have listened to and enjoyed. I highly suggest listening to the entire series to help you get the feeling of this series but it is not necessary. I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story to life with their tone of voice. It kept me listening because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. In this audio we get to listen to Hannah and Jack's story. Their story is one of learning to trust and second chances. What will happen when Hannah is accused of being a traitor and will Jack be willing to risk it all to save her? This was a great story to listen to on my way to work. It was entertaining and the characters just popped. I highly recommend this audiobook.

When past and present love collide!

After reading this book, I am dying to return to Venice, just like Gianna. This book was a true romantic story of how past and present days collide. It made you believe, in not only true love, but second chances. As an artist myself, I truly enjoyed every aspect of this book from learning the history of the city, superstitions of the locals, and could just picture the gorgeous art that is about the city. I fell in love with these characters through Amy’s writing and felt that I was witnessing it all, like I was there. This was the first of her books that I read and cannot wait to go back and read ALL of her others!!

Adventure with a twist of romance

I thoroughly enjoy Amy McKinley's books. The saucy portion of romance is short enough to skip over without detracting from the plot and book. Nail biting adventure and suspension are in every book. Can't wait to read the next one!
