Publisher's summary
Benji and Clyde were unknown farm boys living in poverty in 1928, but by 1929, they were the most notorious teen bank robbers in history. They were the youngest in a world of gangsters and Tommy guns, but, by the end of their reign, their names would forever be remembered along with those of Al Capone, John Dillinger, "Baby Face" Nelson, and Bonnie & Clyde.
Benji & Clyde is the story of two boys who took on the injustice of their world and earned themselves a place in history. Sometimes, crime does pay.

Tim Cotton has been a police officer for more than 30 years. The writer in him has always been drawn to the stories of the people he has met along the way. Dealing with the standard issue ne’er-do-wells as a patrol officer, homicide detective, polygraph examiner, and later as the lieutenant in charge of the criminal investigation division certainly provides an interesting backdrop - but more often he writes about the regular folks he encounters, people who need his help, or those who just want to share a joke or even a sad story.

Story
It's been said that all great literature boils down to one of two stories—a man takes a journey, or a stranger comes to town. While mystery writers have been successfully using both approaches for generations, there's something undeniably alluring in the nature of a stranger: the uninvited guest, the unacquainted neighbor, the fish out of water. In the newest collection of stories by the Mystery Writers of America, each author weaves a fresh tale surrounding the eerie feeling that comes when a stranger enters our midst, featuring stories by prolific mystery writers.

Story
George V. Higgins, the internationally-acclaimed grand master of crime fiction, returns to thrill listeners with this riveting tale of cops, robbers, and big city low life. An expertly crafted story of loyalty and betrayal, it is peppered with wonderfully authentic dialogue and seedy black market atmosphere. Eddie Coyle is a small-time gun dealer with a big-time problem: who to sell out to avoid going to prison.

Story
The hooker was young, pretty...and dead, butchered in a Greenwich Village apartment. The prime suspect, a minister's son, was also dead, the victim of a jailhouse suicide. The case is closed, as far as the NYPD is concerned. Now the murdered prostitute's father wants it opened again--that's where Matthew Scudder comes in.

One of Mark's better writings
The story was good. filled with list, desire and violence. But what fo you expect when your dealing with bank robbers? I can see of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, but isn't there other ways to do that besides robbing grocery stores. gas stations & banks?
The deaths of some of the members of the gang was sad, and it wasn't overdone. Excellent narration! Especially of the character Rory!

Over the Top
Could only handle 2 hours of this book. Thought the unnecessarily graphic details of the main characters same-sex relationship might subside as the story progressed, but not so lucky. The stories premise sounded very intriguing, but was over-run by the extra-curricular activities. Don't waste your time or money - like I did - on this book!
