This task falls to the science of archaeology, the study of man’s past based on excavations and collected artifacts. In this text we will look at ancient documents, ruins and more than two hundred individual artifacts which directly relate to the lands, peoples and events depicted in the Bible. We will explore excavation sites in Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and all across Israel. A single project in Jerusalem has lasted an amazing nineteen years and produced more than six hundred thousand artifacts, many dating back three thousand years. We will examine the tools of the modern archaeologist, profile some of the world renown scientists who have dedicated their lives to retrieving and documenting the history of the Lands of the Bible.
