Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Story
After 50 years of hibernation it has awakened. Oak Grave Forest was a place of beauty. A paradise full of gorgeous wildlife. An outdoorsman’s dream. Until now. A string of disappearances puts the police on high alert. Animals are found mangled and stripped of flesh. People enter the woods and never return. Blood covers the autumn leaves. And the forest is unusually quiet. With dusk casting its gloomy shade over Oak Grave, Shane Alter leads a band of police officers into the forest in search of the missing persons. What they find, instead, is a carnivorous humanoid.

According to the Greeks, there were many gods and goddesses in ancient Greece. These gods had control over many aspects of life on Earth. They were, in many respects, quite human. They could be friendly or nasty, enraged or happy, harsh or loving. They fell in love with one another, fought with one another, and even stole from one another.

Story
At 23, Andrew Forsthoefel headed out the back door of his home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, with a backpack, an audio recorder, his copies of Whitman and Rilke, and a sign that read "Walking to Listen". He had just graduated from Middlebury College and was ready to begin his adult life, but he didn't know how. So he decided to take a cross-country quest for guidance, one where everyone he met would be his guide. In the year that followed, he faced an Appalachian winter and a Mojave summer. He met beasts inside: fear, loneliness, doubt.

Story
"I never set out to hike 10,000 miles. It just sort of happened over the course of a decade." And so goes Lawton Grinter's compelling collection of short stories that have been over ten years and 10,000 trail miles in the making. I Hike brings the reader trailside with blissful moments on the highest mountain ridges to the mental lows of mosquito hell and into some peculiar situations that even seasoned hikers may find unbelievable.

Story
Like a well-crafted stage play, Just Passin' Thru delivers one suspenseful scene after another. But in this historic setting a store on the Appalachian Trail called Mountain Crossings the characters who show up are no fictional creations. Like any good drama, there are the good guys (and gals) and the weirdos, too. Some show up once (and that’s enough), and some appear again and again. But all are united by two things: the author’s story-capturing talent, and whatever it is that lures them to attempt (or conquer) a 2,200-mile path that climbs and plummets from Georgia to Maine.

Excellent Stories
The author does an excellent job at compiling and follow up research bringing together a great book on Bigfoot sightings and experiences. This is really a great stories book on the strange, paranormal, and perhaps scary. It has been a long time since I've read any books on the subject, and I recommend this book for starters and brings memories of getting chills and thrills of watching those movies! This book brings it all back!

I Enjoyed It
I'm normally not a believer in this type of thing, but listening to these stories makes me rethink that concept. This author knows how to weave a story so that anyone who listens to this will open their minds a bit more. Anything is possible in this day and age.

I Wish It Was Longer
I enjoyed this book, I just wish it was longer. They aren't the same old stories rehashed. I was so engrossed in listening to before I knew it, I had finished the book. I'm looking forward to buying the other books by this author.

Made My day
I've grown up to my Dad telling me tales of bigfoot and always querying if he was pulling my leg or if it was in fact real. Some many of these stories in the book sounded so similar to what my Dad has been telling me. so I'm beginning to think he knew what he was going on about which is kind of creepy.

Amazing
The stories in this book really make you think about what lies beyond our realm. I've been fascinated by the paranormal since having had experiences with the unknown myself in the presence of other witnesses after being staunchly raised that such a thing does not exist. I truly enjoyed listening to this book.

Selection of Frightening Bigfoot Encounters
This is a great collection of new Bigfoot encounter stories from an author that is new to me. The individuals in this book read about the author's Bigfoot experiences and reached out to her to share their stories. I always enjoy reading about real life encounters that are shared with authors who understand and appreciate the uniqueness of the situations. I have not read the author's previous books, but I will be reading them now and looking forward to learning about her encounters. There is also an audio book version of this book that I listened to while reading. The narrator was good, but sounded fairly young. I definitely recommend this great collection of encounter tales and look forward to hearing more. The author also includes contact information if you wish to contact or follow her on Facebook.

They were good stories but..
Not a fan of the narrator for this. Just seemed emotionless and bland in his tone of voice. The stories were good but they all sounded the same and had much of the same phrases and wording in them which made them feel less unique to one another. You’ll hear a lot of “my heart dropped into my stomach” or “I sold (insert property/item) and never returned again”. The Bigfoots features are described almost exactly the same in each story which seemed less genuine to me as well. Overall, it just made the stories sound the same as if they were all told by the same person.
