Om sin forkastelse af "Sære historier" i 1952 skriver Ole Wivel i sine erindringer "Tranedans" (1975), at "Ingen af os [fra "Heretica-kredsen"] havde endnu gehør for denne absurde digtnings tonart, dens intellektuelle niveau og etisk-sociale engagement". Det havde de heller ikke for Peter Seeberg (1925-99) og hans digtning, der endnu mere radikalt end Villy Sørensens kan siges at have bidraget til det opgør med "tanteriet", som Tage Skou-Hansen havde spået måtte komme.

Seebergs mærkværdige debutroman "Bipersonerne" (1956) blev afvist på både Gyldendal og Schønbergs og Hans Reitzels forlag. Hvorfor vides ikke, men romanens uheroiske syn på modstandskampen og dens forfatters ophold i Nazityskland under krigen kan have virket provokerende.
