This is the first novel I've listened to with virtual voice narration. I was surprised at how well the AI performed, considering. It does OK with inflection and rhythm of reading, for the most part. However, It does not know how to pronounce slang and cuss words, which really takes away from the story, e.g. "back atcha" and "sonofabitch." It also has a hard time with certain sounds that are spelled out, e.g. "Pfft!" The AI has a hard time on emotional parts which require the voice to change its manner and modulation. I think Virtual voice is better than nothing, but it really needs more training to be successful.
