About this listen

Ben Dafoe, emergency-room doctor and part-time crime-scene consultant for the Seattle P.D., is haunted by addiction. Two years before, a cocaine habit claimed the life of his identical twin, Aaron. Now Ben walks onto the scene of a savage stabbing to learn that the victim, Emily Kenmore, is his former fiancée, another loved one who fell prey to addiction. One the wall in Emily's bedroom is a streak of blood that belongs to the killer. When the DNA from that sample matches Ben's blood, he becomes the prime suspect.

Convinced that his identical twin is alive and somehow involved in Emily's death, Ben frantically hunts for Aaron while trying to evade the authorities. But someone is desperate to thwart him. While Ben struggles to solve a tragic mystery from his past to clear his name in a crime of the present, he learns that, sometimes, blood lies.

very entertaining

BK, I completely disagree; Anthony Heald is one of my favorite narrators, ever since the first book I listened to that he did ("Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil.")

Besides that, the story is very interesting ... one of those that I kept thinking I had figured out, right up until it turned out I didn't ... over and over again. I thought the plot was interesting, and the characters engaging.

Overall, very enjoyable; I will listen to it again sometime, I'm sure.

Couldn't Put It Down!

I've been grateful that this story, so well told, helped me to escape from self isolation blues during our CoViD-19 pandemic! I found the book carried me along and I was happy to learn interesting medical facts through some of the twists in the plot. Also, I loved that it took place in Vancouver and Seattle as I know the areas well and could picture scenes exactly.

The narrator gave compelling voice to the characters in the story. I appreciated the way he imitated female voices by using a softer tone rather than a higher pitch, in most of the cases.

Excellent read!

BK

I had to stop listening after about an hour. The reader could not do female voices so it sounded like a vaudeville act.

hard to put down

I enjoyed "Blood Lies". Variety of well developed characters. Reads like a Michael Crichton novel.
