About this listen
I'm done being the good girl…
So much sacrifice. One betrayal too many.
This bloodsucker has had enough.
And with this strange dragon-shifter as my lover and partner, who is going to stop me?
My old team has tried. They don't stand a chance.
I don't want to be a queen, anymore. I want to be a goddess.
Who's going to stop me? You? Give me your best shot.
But there's one thing that I can't quite shake. Why does this dragon have so much control over me? Why can't I resist him?
Do I even want to resist him?
Bloody Brilliance is the fifth book in The Fury of a Vampire Witch. You've met Mercy before in The Legacy of a Vampire Witch and The Blood Witch Saga. She's fought against devils and demons, insidious witches, and old-world vampires. When she returns to Exeter, where she grew up as a girl, she'll find enemies even bigger and badder than anything she's ever faced before.
A great series for fans of the True Blood / Sookie Stackhouse novels or the Underworld franchise to sink their fangs into. The Fury of a Vampire Witch features a dark and twisty romance, action that could even get a vampire's heart pumping, and a snarky badass heroine.

Story
Compiled by intrepid journalist Neve Pride, this archive of recordings spans the months after dragons emerged on earth, chronicling the communities that sprang up amid the destruction, the scientists, military leaders, and experts searching for a defense, and those steadfastly seeking the missing. Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

For some it’s an opportunity. For others it’s a moment to question their faith: In God, in science, in everything. Still others try to keep the world running in the face of absurdity and uncertainty. I feel like I can breathe again, for a moment at least
This book was the salve I needed after book 4. I loved meeting Sebastian and look forward to reading his books when they come out. Mercy once again came to her senses with the help of the people around her. I really enjoyed the theme of needing people to help achieve seemingly impossible things. Kelly Hazen continues to impress me with all of her character voices. I wonder what will happen next

A Great Listen
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very enjoyable. Rescuing her friends may have changed Mercy's world, but on moment of weakness almost destroys everything. The only person she can trust is a Hunter. . It is a fast paced, suspenseful and action packed with very interesting characters. Looking forward to next book.

Great book
Excellent book. Love mercy and the gang. Lots of action and drama. The world building was excellent and plot was on target. Characters are well developed from book to book they grow and develop more which I like. The narrator does excellent job with the characters making the book more interesting to listen to. I received this audiobook as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Great Read
Bloody Brilliance (The Fury of a Vampire Witch, Book 5) was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. Mercy has fought against devils, demons, insidious witches, and old-world Vampires. But when she returns to Exeter, she finds enemies bigger than shes ever faces before. Mercy is done sacrificing for everyone else after one betrayal too many. She knows that with her partner she is strong enough that no one is going to stop her. The thing she cant seem to figure out is why her dragon partner has so much control over her. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Repercussions
I was entertained by book 5 in "The fury of a Vampire Witch" series. I have been a fan of the character named Mercy since her introduction in the first series of books that featured her as the protagonist. In this story, the reader saw a different side to Mercy; one that painted her as a darker character with an indifference to her actions not present in the first series. I liked the character arc as it showed that Mercy continued to evolve. I enjoyed the unexpected twists. I'm looking forward to the next book. Kelley Hazen's narration was good, and her performance added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Who knew that the soul of Excalibur is a dragon?
Mercy knows. Boy, does she know. But along with the virtuous soul belonging to Cal, she gets saddled with a wicked dragon named Oblivion. Mercy is taken over and it will take every bit of her brilliance to wipe Oblivion from this world. Plenty of danger, adventure, action, and intrigue. Ms. Hazen's is superb.

Monroe has become one of my favorite auyhors
Bloody Brilliance (The Fury of a Vampire Witch Book 5), my fifty-sixth read from author Theophilus Monroe. Theophilus Monroe & his cast of crazy characters has become one of my favorite authors. Another well written & enjoyable read, the fifth in his new Fury of a Vampire Witch series featuring Mercy Brown. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Kelley Hazen’s outstanding narration as always adds to the book’s enjoyment. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Bloody Merry (The Fury of a Vampire Witch Book 6), it's already on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

salvation
As Mercy slips and goes too far as Oblivion whispers in her ear and to an extent controls her actions, a hunter is her salvation when he manages to send Oblivion in the recesses of her mind. Mercy works with the hunter to take out a werewolf issue, new friends and old have to work together to finally put a end to Oblivion.
