About this listen
Mirror, mirror, on the wall...who's the baddest (w/b)itch of all?
I wasn't ever into fortune telling. Thought it was all B.S. But a new witch showed up in town... and she's offered to teach me a few things... I had a little time on my hands. So I figured... what the hell? Why not? But what I saw when I gazed into that damn crystal... I saw my own end... my death... my final death. And the witch tells me that once it's divinized, it shall come to pass. You want to know what I have to say about that? F*** that S***!
Bloody Fortune is the ninth book in The Fury of a Vampire Witch. You've met Mercy before in The Legacy of a Vampire Witch and The Blood Witch Saga. She's fought against devils and demons, insidious witches, and old-world vampires. When she returns to Exeter, where she grew up as a girl, she'll find enemies even bigger and badder than anything she's ever faced before.
A great series for fans of the True Blood / Sookie Stackhouse novels or the Underworld franchise to sink their fangs into. The Fury of a Vampire Witch features a dark and twisty romance, action that could even get a vampire's heart pumping, and a snarky badass heroine.

Story
Most people living in Elderwood City didn’t believe in vampires. Most vampires living in Elderwood City didn’t care. Josef Freeth, neither man nor vampire, knew better than both. He also knew that the fresh scent of blood wafting through the park meant it was time to do what he did best: slaying vampires. Supernatural creatures, secret organizations, magic and missions, the MoonWatch Universe’s web of stories and novels has it all.

Story
I'll never forget the sight of my little sister's lifeless body—or that my rogue magic killed her. Sorcery like mine is punishable by death. So I live in the shadows, stealing from the corrupt to give to the needy. Maybe a little good can wash the blood from my hands. It seems like a decent plan... until I try to help a dying noblewoman and somehow steal her soul instead. Now her ghost is demanding I take up the quest that got her killed: exposing a conspiracy at the royal college to unleash a deadly power on the entire kingdom.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

A 5 star fantasy read/listen
Bloody Fortune (The Fury of a Vampire Witch Book 9), my seventieth read from author Theophilus Monroe. Theophilus Monroe & his cast of crazy characters has become one of my favorite paranormal reads. Another well written & enjoyable read, the nineth in his new Fury of a Vampire Witch series featuring Mercy Brown. I received an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Kelley Hazen’s outstanding narration as always, adds to the book’s enjoyment. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Bloody Rebels (The Fury of a Vampire Witch Book 10) when it's published in March of next year, it's already on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Is a Prophecy Unchangeable?
I was entertained by book nine as much as the other books in this series. I was surprised that the author would propose the ending of Mercy Brown, and therefore, I was engrossed in this story from the opening paragraphs until the end. I enjoyed all the twists and turns. I was on the edge-of-my seat as I waited to learn Mercy's fate. I liked the flashes of humor which manifested in the one-liners and dialogue between characters. I thought Kelley Hazen's narration was brilliant. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.

emotional
this one gets emotional which is saying something considering some of the of the other books. Anyway that is closest I'm hopefully getting to a spoiler. This is a must read and/or listen series. (yes I say this with each book but it is that good)

What a lead in.
If you're reading or listening to this one, you should also read the new Sebastian Winter series in tandem. The action in one directly ties into the other. I'm loving both.
