Publisher's summary

A year after leaving Scotland, Susan Miller has freshly graduated from college and has a job as the manager of the printing department of a tourism magazine in the Outer Banks. One day as she’s going through her daily routine, she receives an unexpected call from her old flame, Danny, who tells her that he’ll be visiting the North Carolinian coast for work.

Immediately a flood of emotions resurfaces as the two of them meet up again along the ocean shoreline and decide to take a trip across Susan’s home state. Will they finally be able to make this relationship work, or will it crash?

Outer Banks

Book 3. Susan returned home to the Outer Banks, NC working for a tourism magazine. Danny calls up, and says he will be visiting NC, and wants to meet up. Realistic emotions at seeing an old partner you did not expect to see again. Good story, and well develop characters. Narration was well done.

Very Dark Moment…Sigh!

In Susan and Danny’s multi-audiobook romance, where each audiobook gives a particular slice of their life as a couple, this one has what I hope is the blackest dark moment (that every romance has to have) of the installments—because it is particularly dark! The first two books of their romance take place in Scotland, Danny's home country, and this book switches setting. It's a year past the previous installment, and it takes place in North Carolina, Susan's home state. She has now graduated from college and manages a tourism magazine for the Outer Banks. In this story, the couple travels across North Carolina to get back to her hometown. Danny finally comes clean about his wealthy background, and frankly, I thought the heroine's reaction was waaaay over the top. I just don't see how what he did would logically make her blow up at him as she did. I so dislike it when books don't make logical sense to me. We get to meet some of the heroine's family and see where she grew up. She certainly has a different background than the hero. I thought the hero's commentary throughout about America (at least North Carolina), including its food, was amusing. It's interesting to see your country through the eyes of someone from another place in the world. You know each chapter's perspective character, as the female narrator voices Danny with a Scottish accent and Susan with a slight southern accent—it definitely could have been stronger. I'm a little frightened to see where this author takes this couple next. I know the book doesn't end with the next installment, but at this point, I hope she doesn't make it too horrible! We'll see!

Scottish Whisky!

This is the third installment in the "Scottish Whisky" series about Susan and Danny. It is a fairly short quick read/listen and does end with a very dreaded cliffhanger. There are five parts to their story so they need to be read in order. Susan and Danny meet while she is in Scotland with her friend. She decides to return to North Carolina where she finishes her degree. Danny travels to North Carolina where they meet again. I enjoyed this story and thought the narrator did a really good job with the accents. I look for to the next segment of Danny and Susan's story.

ARC Review

In this latest episode we change up the scenery some and are back in the US, after she returns home. There's a lot of drama in this short story, some of which may seem a little blown out of proportion.

The Sparks Fly Again

Susan Miller has returned home and is moving forward after having graduated from college. Working at a tourism magazine as the manager in the printing department, Susan is ready for the next chapter of her life … until she receives a much wanted but dreaded phone call from her ex, Danny. He plans to visit and hopefully, the sparks will fly again more successfully.
Aila Skye, the author, reunites the two characters flawlessly and with realistic emotions. Rich with vivid details, Skye captures the listener’s attention as her characters develop and their journey continues. The story moves forward steadily with believable dialog and interactions.
The narrator, Alexa Teebo, gives another excellent performance. Her voice flows smoothly and clearly with good pacing.
There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.
