About this listen

Brotherhood, loyalty, honor.

Body Baggers is a fictional story about a Black biker club located in Oakland, California, and a strained relationship between two brothers that is filled with love and hate, envy and abandonment, and resentment and competition. Friends and family get caught up in their tumultuous relationship and loyalties are continually tried and tested throughout their story.

This generational thing of theirs has been repeatedly passed down; something that started in the 1960s was changing with the ideology of Gen X. The seed was planted and derived from the Black Panther mentality, and now they risk being taken over by the very mentality they were originally against.

Northern and Southern California clubs compete for leverage and business, and backroom deals, relationship immorality, and lack of decorum combine to create a toxic environment both internally and with other clubs.

Vulnerability is viewed as a weakness and can get you killed, and the more dysfunctional you appear, the more you’re feared and revered.

Although enticing and attractive, the motorcycle set life is brazenly unpredictable, from the welcoming embrace of a fraternity of brothers you always wanted yet never had to a thief at dusk stealing lives of the innocent.

Some are guilty by association and others are downright guilty. It’s smoke and mirrors, creating enough confusion to drive a sane man wild.

And the body baggers were no exception to this life.
