About this listen

Evil creatures find Sabrina irresistible... and she doesn't know it...

Sabrina’s aura is unique, spellbinding, and absolutely delicious. Evil creatures come from miles around, attracted by the siren’s song she doesn’t know she’s singing.

Evil beings like Cutter.

He rides for miles in the darkness, racing through the night on his shiny black motorcycle. But he can’t outrun his nature no matter how much he wants to ... and the moment he catches scent of Sabrina’s aura, his longing to be something different sets his immortal soul ablaze.

When the devil’s son falls in love with a girl who doesn’t know she’s magic, there will be hell to pay, and the price just might be Sabrina’s life.

Perfect for readers who love Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, or Sherrilyn Kenyon!

I’ve really enjoyed Penelope Wright’s previous books, especially her gift for writing emotionally grounded characters who face hardship with integrity, grit, and kindness. Born of Ash and Fury continues that strength, I think it’s the most traditional of her stories so far in that the main character teams up with her love interest very early in the story and its a kind of insta-love bonding situation which is very different from her other books. The heroine’s background, raised by a kind but troubled mother, feels modern and authentic but at the same time keeps the optimistic magic that I love and expect from this author.

I really enjoyed this book and will be continuing the series. If you’re new to Penelope Wright, don’t stop here, her other books explore wildly different storylines but keep the same emotionally honest main character. She’s absolutely a writer worth following. For me her books are always an instant buy.
