About this listen

Crystal Scott has the world at her fingertips. Both at the height of her career at a wildly popular magazine and on the rise in an enviable social circle, she's beginning to think that maybe she can have it all. But her entire life, body, and soul are threatened when Troy Mitchell steps on the scene. Crystal has never felt the insatiable passion she feels for Troy - and it was certainly not part of her plan. Troy pursues her full throttle, making it impossible for her to resist. Crystal can't help but fall for the handsome, powerful, enigmatic man. But the families of both lovers will not stand for their love, and a raging inferno of bitterness and revenge threatens to consume them both as tensions ignite. With deadly twists and turns, Crystal and Troy must choose each other and give in to love, or they will not escape the ties that bind them.

The narrator had to grow on me

After I got pass the narrator's voice the story was very good. The narrator sounded like a computer. I will avoid any other audibles that's narrated by Cami Darian!

You'll get whip lash w these plot twists

This story was amazing. I'm usually bored by the predictability of a suspense/romance. But In this one there are plot twists that have you gasping on the train lookin like a fool. Loved it! Plus it's nice to get a good suspense novel with super steamy and romantic parts. Not that big a fan of the performer BUT they aren't bad. Just not my fav. Def listen to this <3

Superb Writing

It's hard for me to find a book so thoroughly written cover to cover. I enjoyed this read from page one paying attention to how detailed the authors descriptions were and how everything flowed together so smoothly. The ending has left me wanting to see a sequel.

Great story!

I did not like the narrator at all though! It was too monotone with no emotion to me.

Narrator

The narrator is awful, she sounds very mechanical and sentences are running together. It’s very hard to get through.

I almost didn't listen to this all the way through

I almost didn't listen to this book. The voice was monotone and didn't have the excitement the story should have had. It got a little better towards the middle of the book.

Family Over True love

Would you listen to Boss again? Why?

Yes, I have listen to the BOSS 3 times. It was a wonderful read that I was able to relate to. Reading it more than once I was able to captivate the true essence of love each character share for one another.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Boss?

When Troy realized Crystal was not who he thought she was. Troy had a spiritual connection to Crystal as if he knew her from another lifetime. They were the true definition of soulmates.

Which character – as performed by Cami Darian – was your favorite?

Crystal Scott & Troy Mitchell. Cami Darian made the characters come alive as if they were real life people that the reader knew.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I cried and laugh throughout the entire book.

Any additional comments?

I loved the successful African American power. How education payed off in the long run for Troy and Crystal. How independent Crystal Scott was through out the book.
