About this listen
M/M scenes
When Casey's long term boyfriend suddenly locks him out of the house, he thinks his world has ended. Who would have known after everything they'd been through together, Father McDermott, a Catholic priest he has secretly been dating, would do something like that to him?
Then he meets Hunter, a slightly older, slow-talking, smart but simple country boy who takes him in and teaches Casey to believe in himself, what true love is, and how to please a real man in bed (or on his knees).
If you are a fan of Always by Kindle Alexander, The Backup Boyfriend by River Jaymes, Broken Pieces, Stay, or Collide by Riley Hart, or any of the Dreamspinner Press books, you'll enjoy this short novel.

ehhh, not that great
The narrator sounds like an 80 year old man. Really did a disservice to the story.

Good story but narration had many probs.
Casey was secretly dating a Priest and when the priest breaks up with him and kicks him out with nowhere to go and no money he finds a farmhouse with room for rent and asks to trade room for chores and luckily for him Hunter says yes for the short term. They get along and time passes. Casey tells Hunter he's gay and he says he doesn't mind but doesn't really share much more than that. so Casey assumes he's straight. They become good friends but after they run into Casey's ex and pretend to be together and the ex reminds them theres a school reunion they have to keep up their fake relationship. This is a very slow burn. A friends to lovers book and I really enjoyed it. Considering it's short length it didn't feel rushed or unfinished.
The narrator was ok I guess but I wasn't really a fan of the voices esp Hunter. Also I did have to lol at the poor editing done when in chapter 11 he drops the mic or whatever and has to start over. Then he calls chapter 16 chapter 17 and repeats a sentence. Then chapter 17 is a repeat of 17. Not sure if the narrator just screwed up or if he maybe forgot a chapter. Either way the editing is very poor.

short and sweet
Very sweet how two opposites find each other. good character development and back story for the length. a few hiccups in the reading, but not enough to disrupt the whole story.

Audio issues
there is a problem with the audio some lines are repeated and one whole chapter repeated itself
like the story itself but the audio issues are very annoying

silver linings
I was upset with the priest and his lack of integrity. In the end, the priest did him a favor , and freed him to findvtrue love. Too bad the priest couldn't learn from his mistakes and kept lying. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

simple story, good story
Any additional comments?
My first by this author and this narrator.
I enjoyed this story very much. Two men coming to terms with each other, there true feelings. Getting past, well there past, and how that shaped them.
The slow build, the friendship to courtship. To love.
I enjoyed these two, how the matched and melded very well.
This narrator did well, wasn't fond of the Hunter voice, the 'slow southern' seemed a little extreme. But over all did a nice job.

Brilliant
This story shows that those that love you can be someone unexpected and someone who stands up for you no matter what the circumstances.
