About this listen

Sunny MacDonald doesn't know what to expect when she's dragged to Club Fang by her twin sister Rayne. But the devastatingly handsome vampire Magnus mistakes her for her goth-loving twin and bites her on the neck, she realizes his fangs are all too real...and all too deadly.

Now Sunny and Magnus find themselves in a race against time to find a way to reverse the bite before Sunny becomes a vampire forever. Something she definitely doesn't want-even if does mean spending eternity with a certain boy who bites....

Boys That Bite by Mari Mancusi

Boys That Bite by Mari Mancusi

Paranormal YA romance. 1st in the Blood Coven Vampire series.
Definitely written for the younger crowd with plenty of current day references. Included teen angst and teen values as well as teen crushes and love.
Emphasis on innocence and the introduction to the darker world.
Light and easy read.
The only discordant note for me was the attitude of Sunny towards the slayer. Her issue wasn’t so much the danger but rather the weight and appearance of the slayer. Intolerable fat shaming.

First in a series. Epilogue makes it a cliffhanger.

Memories

I read this book back in middle school and I finally found it again. (Thanks to my blood coven card in one of my old backpacks) Still in love with the story and sassy characters. Will for sure be getting all the books.

Love Mari Mancusi

I love the Blood Coven series! I read them a whole back ago and decided to listen to them. I enjoy reading the paper book first then having it come alive in an audiobook.

Boys that Bite: A Blood Coven Vampire Book 1 Novel

Boys that Bite: A Blood Coven Vampire Book 1 Novel 🤩 Wow 🤩 I loved this book! You can't help but love the twins with such different personalities and their constant banter, but still there to help each other right away when they have too. This is the funnest oops I got turned into a vampire by mistake but I don't want to be a vampire book I have ever read! My husband was laughing because I listened to the audible book and read when I could, finished the first book in less than a day. Definitely recommend this book 📖 / series 📚

I don’t like Sunny

Sunny is so annoying. Confidence to kiss a random hot guy but suddenly she’s too nerdy for the hot guy at school to like her. The narrator has the perfect voice for both characters, she did a really good job at making it easy to imagine the characters. I’m still going to read the next book I just hope Rayne’s POV will be better.

Sunny casted a cloud over the story

The story had a lot of potential, but for me, it was overshadowed by the main character, Sunny. Unfortunately, she was one of the most frustrating characters I’ve come across in a while. That said, I can see how some readers might find her entertaining. I imagine this book would resonate most with a younger audience, probably teens and young adults aged 13 to 21.
As someone in my early 40s, Sunny’s personality really ruined the experience for me. She comes off as spoiled, rude, obnoxious, and incredibly shallow, constantly judging others while failing to reflect on her own flaws. Her character made it difficult to connect with the story, which had a lot of potential otherwise. If it weren’t for the corny slayer and Sunny’s overbearing presence, the book could have been much more enjoyable. Overall, I’d give it a soft 3 out of 5.
