Publisher's summary

Unique to this title is:

  • A historical introduction
  • An overview of Dracula
  • A study of the themes present in Dracula
  • A list of famous quotes from Dracula

You may, of course, skip all of it and go straight to the main title if you do not want any spoilers and come back later to the beginning.

Abraham “Bram” Stoker was born in 1847 in Dublin as the third of seven children. Stoker was bedridden with an unknown illness until the age of seven, when he made a complete recovery. He even grew up to become a successful athlete.

Stoker is best known today for his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula but during his lifetime, he was better known as the personal assistant of actor Sir Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, which Irving owned.

The novel Dracula begins when an English lawyer, Jonathan Harker, travels to Eastern Europe to meet Count Dracula, who is a client of his. The reason for the meeting is the finalization of a property transaction. When he arrives in Transylvania, he immediately notices that locals are shocked to learn where he is heading.

Loved the Annotation

I found this edition of Dracula by Bram Stoker really helped me grasp this book better. It helped me know where the book was going, which helped me focus better. I also loved all the symbolism. A lot of that would have been missed by me if I had not been told, and I found it enhanced the enjoyment of the book.

I have put off reading this book for years, and I am so glad I gave this a listen. It is in my top classics now. I will relisten to this again in the future.

Drew Kallen- Keck did a great job with the narration. The voices were distinct and the book felt eery the whole way through.

I would highly reccomend this edition of Dracula for those who are new to the book as well as those are rereading it again.

Good thriller

Of course, I have heard of Dracula and knew he was a vampire, but I had never read the story. I really enjoyed the story itself and the way it was written through diary entries and letters. It made the story all the more interesting hearing about it from various characters and varying viewpoints. I thought the author did a great job of building suspense and was surprised at how the word "vampire" was only used a few times toward the end of the story. I enjoyed listening to this book and thought the narrator did an excellent job of acting out the various characters, even if he did stumble over words every now and again. I was given this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Wow!

This was an excellent production. The reading was well done, and the historical introduction was extremely interesting. I disagreed with the overview, but it is always interesting to hear someone else's opinion.
The story was phenomenal. I had only encountered film portrayals of Dracula, and this was so much more than I had anticipated. If you are only thinking about listening to this, than urge you to do it. It is an experience you won't regret.

A Classic Horror Story

One of the best vampire stories ever written read by an excellent narrator.
Definitely worth your time, even if you've seen all those Dracula movies.

Narrator adds to the story

This is the not the only rendition of this book I’ve read/listened to. This is the fourteenth book I’ve received from Audiobook Giveaways. Their other books, as well as this one, have a historical introduction and overview. I quite enjoy this. This adds to the experience of the book, in my opinion.

This is the second book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Drew Kallen-Keck ) and He does a fantastic job narrating this book. His cadence adds a nice touch to the time and style of this story. He uses different voices and accents for each character and his female characters are well done.
There were a few editing mistakes, but they were minor and not overly disruptive.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.
