Finally Feeling Like Myself Again

This book came to me as present in the right time ending a relationship that left me completely drained.
The book is not something like heavy or overly clinical—it is something that helps people to make sense of everything that is happening and guides toward feeling like oneself again.
What I appreciated most was how the author laid everything out in a way that felt doable, not overwhelming. Each step felt like a small nudge in the right direction. There were a few parts where I had to pause and really think about how I’d been showing up in relationships—not just what I was tolerating, but how I was setting (or not setting) boundaries in the first place.
I’ve started to journal again, set some real limits with people who drain my energy, and honestly, I’ve felt more in control of my emotions than I have in months. It’s not a magic fix, but it gave me something I really needed: clarity.
If you’re dealing with a breakup or just feeling stuck in a relationship that doesn’t feel right, this book is a solid companion. Not preachy, not fluffy—just honest guidance that meets you where you’re at.

Wish I had This Sooner!

Using Corinthians for introduction was great. Painful, personal experience is the best for being relatable to the topic. Establish healthy boundaries early, good advice. Vision of standing at a crossroad caused me to pause and take notes. Identification tips on red flags was a good exercise. Great read, good lessons.

Amazing Resource!

Wow. This audiobook hit me hard in the best way possible. Coming out of a toxic relationship is no joke, and honestly, I didn’t even realize how much I needed something like this until I started listening. It felt like the author was speaking directly to me, putting words to all the confusion, self-doubt, and exhaustion I’ve been carrying for way too long. The way it breaks down toxic patterns, helps you recognize red flags (including the ones I definitely ignored), and gives you actual, practical steps to move forward. It was exactly what I needed. I learned I must learn to trust myself again. Toxic relationships have a way of making you second-guess everything, but this book reminded me that my feelings are valid, that I do deserve respect, and that healing is possible. If you are like me and recovering from a toxic relationship, this audiobook is for you!

You Deserve Better

The Preface opens with a profound quote from 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 about love. That's all you really need if you take it seriously.

The book proceeds from there to teach you how to make that definition a reality in your life, first by learning to love and protect yourself, by setting boundaries, and understanding that if someone loves you, you won't feel a constant sense of anxiety in their presence. You won't have to work to please them, or question their motives all the time. Trust is earned, but they will earn your trust, as you will earn theirs.

The Love Map Method is an interesting way to learn to recognize and avoid toxicity in relationships. Like Kenny Rogers sings, you gotta "Know when to walk away and know when to run."

This book gives you a solid exit plan!
