About this listen

As millions of readers of Hatchet, The River, and Brian's Winter know, Brian Robeson survived alone in the wilderness by finding solutions to extraordinary challenges. But now that's he's back in civilization, he can't find a way to make sense of high school life. He feels disconnected, more isolated than he did alone in the North. The only answer is to return-to "go back in"-for only in the wilderness can Brian discover his true path in life, and where he belongs.

I still feel like I want to hear more about Brian's experiences in the forest but I can understand that this is a decent place to end the series

Another of my favorites by Gary Paulsen. Worth a listen or read if you have time and have read Hatchet and or Brian’s Winter.

He didn’t make it to the Cree family. Storywise. Also his background at the end.

The level of detail and love put into this book is superb. the Narrator captures the voices perfectly.

Thank you, Mr. Paulsen

Downloaded the hatchet series to introduce my kids to the books I grew up with and once I started listening I found myself drawn back in just like I was has a preteen.

Just as good today as when I was growing up

Another great addition to Brian's story, I recommend reading them in order. This one is not my favorite, but still a contender for a great book for young boys and adults alike. I actually liked Brian's Winter the best so far. This book led me to believe it was the last in the series, but I believe there is one more after it, I hope so anyway since I bought it. Maybe I just have the order mixed up. Narrator does a good job, but the music is a bit loud at first overrides some of the reading.

Where the soul is.

This brings a good ending to tbe Hatchet Series, although Brian's Hunt keeps it going a bit longer. Absolutely loved the whole series. Listened to Hatchet just to relive reading it with my sons and never planned to so the other books, but I got hooked.

Great closure for the series

Yet, another fantastic story of Brian. I can't seem to get enough of Paulson's stories.
