About this listen

When we last saw Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch, they had just put things to right in the rough-and-tumble Old West town of Resolution. It's now a year later, and Virgil has only one thing on his mind: Allie French, the woman who stole his heart from their days in Appaloosa. Even though Allie ran off with another man, Virgil is determined to find her, his deputy and partner Everett Hitch at his side.

Making their way across New Mexico and Texas, the pair finally discover Allie in a small-town brothel. Her spirit crushed, Allie joins Everett and Virgil as they head north to start over in Brimstone. But things are not the same between Virgil and Allie; too much has happened, and Virgil can't face what Allie did to survive the year they were apart.

Vowing to change, Allie thinks she has found redemption through the local church and its sanctimonious leader, Brother Percival. Given their reputations as guns for hire, Everett and Virgil are able to secure positions as the town's deputies. But Brother Percival stirs up trouble at the local saloons, and as the violence escalates into murder, the two struggle to keep the peace.

Excellent writing and narration held my attention!

Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch continue to battle villains in this page -turner. Get ready to be transported to Brimstone, where our heroes pin on badges and step between a hypocritical preacher and a saloon/brothel owner who are ready to go to war. Cole and Hitch find themselves facing 25 men in a shootout. What could possibly go wrong?

Great book series just one critique

The books are almost too short, it would’ve been much better for me financially, they combine 2 to 1 novel. Good series good listen good narration.

Perfect Story; Perfect Narration: You Will Love It

This is third book in the Virgil Cole/ Everette Hitch series. Robert Party only wrote one more of these before he died. Strongly encourage listening to the series of 4 in order AND encourage listening to them rather than reading them. Titus Welliver narrates all four - his narration is letter perfect which is critical because the dialogue is the awesome. The stories and characters are fascinating, but the dialogue is what grips you. That is lost in the novels written after Parker died. Also, Welliver is not the narrator of any other books in the Virgil & Hitch series

Great realism in the details

I enjoyed this book the best so far in the series. It has much more humor in this one as compared to the previous two books. Still has the same strong character traits of each personality with an even better storyline. Cole and Hitch really meet some tough times in this town.

One of Parker's best

Great story of Cole and Hitch. I could live every moment through Titus Welliver's terrific naration. To bad Parker left us so young.

Brimstone

Just a fantastic listen..particularly if you have read either or both of the two previous books of the trilogy (Appaloosa and/or Redemption)..I saw the movie starring Ed Harris which was great ..the narration here and plot are the best of the series..I just wish Parker would write more about these compelling characters..if you like action and very believable westerns you won't be disappointed

I've listened to 100s of books, and Titus Welliver is simply the best narrator I've heard yet!!

I love RBP'S westerns. Everett Hitch and Virgil Cole are fantastic, very complex characters and the plots are very good!! I 'm excited to start book 4 next!

One of the better

This is probably the best of the series. Although predictable it was still a good story.
