About this listen

Widowed rancher Heath Wolfe worries he's making a big mistake by bringing Willow McAllister home to his ranch. A known troublemaker around town, she can't seem to keep a job or avoid skirmishes with the law, so the town marshal implores Heath to help. While Heath agrees to employ Willow, he certainly won't allow misbehavior, and he's even prepared to take the willful young lady over his knee for a sound spanking if warranted.

Orphaned and alone for several years, 19-year-old Willow is used to taking care of herself. She sleeps wherever she can find a soft surface and roams freely. She doesn't drink whiskey every night and she only steals when she has to, so it doesn't seem fair when the marshal insists she give up her freedom to work for Heath. She suspects that the rancher is as humorless as he is handsome.

Heath and Willow are as different as two people can be, but a tentative friendship forms. Old habits die hard, though, and it doesn't take long for Willow to engage in familiar shenanigans. When problems arise, will Heath regret bringing trouble home, or will he get to the bottom of it, once and for all?

Warning: Bringing Trouble Home contains sexual scenes and domestic discipline, including punishment spanking. If you don't like these themes, please don't buy this audiobook.

Enjoyable

The book is set in the old west. A widower is asked to take on the town hellion to take care of his kids and house. She has a bit of trouble settling down and her insecurities get the best of her. It was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The narrator took a little bit of getting used to, but once I did, I thought he did a good job. I have read other books by Amelia Smarts and have enjoyed them all. I received a free copy of the book, but the review is my honest opinion of the book.

Excellent story

Bringing Trouble Home, the first book in the Lost and Found in Thorndale series, is a Western historical romance, and I absolutely loved it. It's beautifully written, well-plotted with captivating characters. Amelia Smarts's delivery is excellent; the story captures the attention from start to end.

The narration by Matthew Keyes is outstanding. His ability to produce a broad range of tones is fantastic. Despite the various characters, I could tell each one apart. Bringing Trouble Home is a beautiful love story, and I highly recommend this audiobook. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good western

Another great story by Amelia Smarts. I think she did a great job with the characters. We see Willow grow and mature. Heath is a strict disciplinarian, but he is still gentle and loving with his children and Willow. A good weekend listen/read.

Loved this story so hard

This is a sweet, sweet story. Great narration that really added something to the story. I just loved how Heath handled Willow. He gave her the space to be who she was while encouraging her to try something new. And the ending was just perfect. If you like sexy, sweet westerns, this is the book for you

I'm hard to please, but tale pleased me.

Amelia Smart's husband is one blessed man. Most authors write from experience and heart. This author has moxie and is well loved, well spanked and well rewarded for her excellence, if my theory holds merit.

Western love

This was a first for me for the time period in the story. The western manners, talk and lifestyle was really a nice change to my usual stories. It was a steamy one at that. The struggles of both the H and the h was real life and you could relate to their trouble. The kids were sweet too especially his daughter! The narrator did a great job.

Another great read by Amelia Smarts.

Another great read by Amelia Smarts! I think she did a great job with the characters. We see Willow grow and mature as she takes on the responsibility of keeping house and raising children. Of course, having an alpha male like Heath leading, she had little choice if she wanted to be able to sit comfortably. Although Heath is a strict disciplinarian, he is still gentle and loving with his children and Willow. Although we know how the story will end it is nice to see it progress from a hot mess to happily ever after.
The narrator did a good job. I’m always amazed at the talent of these narrators when they have to switch between characters.
If you are into spanking and steamy sex scenes give this one a listen.

love this narrator

Matthew Keyes does an excellent job narrating this western. His voice is one of my favorite reasons for getting this book on audible. I read the book as an ebook, but he brings the story alive!

Western romance with a touch of BDSM

This is the first book I've read / listen to of Smarts but I have to say I hope it won't be my last. I very much enjoyed this storyline, a troubled young woman rescued by the eligible bachelor everyone wants. I also loved these characters. Willow is defiant and head strong which I loved and Heath is strong but gentle. Great steamy scenes with just a touch of dominance and submission that is oh so swoon worthy. My only problem with this read / listen was the narrator made Heath sound slow - he changed his speech pattern when portraying Heath and it just made him sound daft but he did great when just narrating or portraying the other characters.
