About this listen

Meet the men of Manning Grove, three small-town cops and brothers, who meet the women who will change the rest of their lives. This is Max's story....

Big-city party-girl Amanda Barber has been spoiled most of her life. But life for Amanda suddenly becomes a major challenge: adapting to small-town life, dealing with her special needs brother, and constantly butting heads with a frustrating local cop.

As a police officer and former Marine, "responsibility" is Max Bryson's middle name. Never having been in a serious relationship, he has no plans for one in the near future. He likes being his own man. And even if he were interested in a serious relationship, he certainly wouldn't choose someone so immature and irresponsible as Amanda. But no matter how hard he tries, he can't get sexy Amanda out of his head or his heart. Watching her mature in front of his eyes, his protectiveness toward her only strengthens.

Bossy and possessive aren't the only words Amanda uses to describe this frustrating cop. She can't deny just looking at the man makes her tremble. But she's done with having anyone control her and this man isn't going to be any different. Or is he?

Note: This is a full-length novel and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. No cliff-hangers, and it has an HEA.

Love a man in uniform!

I read and loved this book originally and was so excited to hear the audiobook version! Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas did a fantastic job of pulling you right into the heart of the story! Amanda, is a woman torn from life as she knew it in Miami and moved to a small town to take on the biggest responsibility of her life. Max, is a set in his ways police officer in Manning Grove who meets his biggest distraction and match when it comes to Amanda. This is a story of compromise, growth, and breaking out of your comfort zone. Another wonderful story from Jeanne St James that have you ready and anxious to meet the rest of the Bryson Brothers!

Fantastic listen!

Loved this listen! Great story and characters, with plenty of humor and romance. Fantastic narrators who really brought the characters to life with unique voices for each. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Loved it!!

Loved the start of this series. The storyline and characters were great. Max and Amanda meet when she moves from Miami to take care of her brother. They have great chemistry from the start and Max, who isn’t looking for commitment, has to face that there is something more between them. Ava Lucas and Jason Clarke did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to more in this series.

Steamy narration and great story

I love Jeanne St James' Dare Menage series so I was excited to listen to the first audiobook of her Brothers in Blue series.

Though this isn't a story line that I would naturally gravitate to, I knew I could count on Jeanne to engage my interest and she managed to take craft a super sweet story but yet still keep the super hot chemistry and sexy times that I have come to expect when listening to her audiobooks

Ava Lucas' narration as usual is top notch, with her sexy confident voice and you can't go wrong with Jason Clarke narrating. He is fast becoming one of my favourite male narrators.

I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series

Great story, great narration

I love small town stories, throw in a totally hot and alpha cop and I am in heaven. Having read/listened to several books from Jeanne St James I was excited to dive in to what for me is a new series.

I was not disappointed. The narration from Ava Lucas and Jason Clark was spot on for these characters. I really loved the premise of this story. Spoilt rich girl Amanda Barber arrives in the small town of Manning Grove to take responsibility for her younger half brother who has special needs. Initially I wasn't sure I was going to like Amanda or Mandy as her brother Greg calls her but thankfully I came around very quickly.

I loved the relationship that not only Amanda but Max had with Greg, it was truly heart warming. The chemistry between Max and Amanda was intense and it was amusing to listen to the love/hate relationship as it built.

I am looking forward to reading/listening to the other brothers stories.

Kept me entertained, but. . .

I’m giving this story the stars because I felt like the writing was decent and the story kept me in it. I have to admit, though, that I get annoyed with the spoiled, whiny heroines who need a strong man to structure their lives. It seems Amanda waffled between woe-is-me-help-me to “I can do it myself” toddler behavior. The sex scenes were hot, but I guess the author assumes safe sex/birth control are not sexy topics. I kind of felt that supported the irresponsibleness of the heroine. However, I’m an older, mature, independent woman. Take my review with that in mind. You want sexy, fairly low-angst entertainment, I think you should go for it. I got this series on sale, so I’m interested enough to move on to the next story.

The narrators were as good as one can get with trying to achieve both male and female voices. Mr. Clarke could be a bit livelier, but I’m happy to hear them in the next book.

Delicious!

The characters in this story are extremely stubborn and sometimes frustrating; however, they evolve over time in a way that is natural to the story. Very hardheaded, and they don't lose that as they come together (pun intended). Amanda really steps up with her brother, who is a great character! Max is stubborn, arrogant, sexy, and quite wonderful! Max's family is I really enjoyed the two of them together as they mature and come to terms with their feelings. This book has some seriously sexy scenes. Chapter 10 was toe curling!! I listened on Audible, and performances were exactly what I expect from these top-notch narrators who are high on my #faveylist for good reason. Ava is wonderful and Jason Clarke is AMAZING, as always! 🐉🔥
