About this listen

In every detective's life there are cases that can't be discussed. Now Arthur Bryant has decided to open the files on 11 of these previously unseen investigations.

The first-ever collection of Bryant & May stories not only sheds light on 11 classic cases but also contains everything you need to know about the two octogenarian detectives and the Peculiar Crimes Unit.

Critic reviews

"One of our most unorthodox and entertaining writers." ( Sunday Telegraph)

I don't usually like short stories, but Fowler, as usual, doesn't disappoint. Loved it! Recommend!

Really enjoyed this collection!

Tim Goodman did his usual stellar job. This is, of course, a collection of short "cases" from Bryant & May. Each is prefaced with comments from Christopher Fowler about what prompted the story and this just added to the overall enjoyment. Was sorry to get to the end. The author noted that this was a sort trial run for short stories and if this was well-received (it was), then we could see more in the future.

So Much Fun!

To many main characters, to much going on all the time. Very complicated plot lines.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

Picked up towards the end. As always
, Tim Goodman is the man.His performance is superb.

Not the best B&M

Stick with the full length novels which allow for the rich dialogue and amusing interplay. Some of the plots are excellent and would be better served as novels. The commentary is interesting but a bit like a surgeon describing his favorite operations. Not at all necessary to enjoy the language. Just a pity this author is a religious bigot.

Not so good
