About this listen
At the peaceful Modest Means Farms, five geldings make their home: Scout, the wise old horse; Buck, a once-great racehorse with a hurting heart; and three playful ponies—Strawberry, Gumdrop, and the mischievous Bandit.
The ponies love to gather around Scout in the mornings to hear stories of bravery and trust. But one morning, they notice Buck standing alone by the fence. The ponies are afraid of his size and strength and they wonder why he never joins them.
Through Scout’s gentle wisdom, the ponies learn that Buck’s past was filled with hardship and broken trust. He was pushed beyond his limits on the racetrack and often scared. Buck struggles to believe in friendship—or even in himself.
Scout teaches the ponies an important lesson: just like Buck needs patience and kindness to learn to trust again, we must learn to trust God, even when we feel afraid or hurt.
With faith, kindness, and a little bravery of their own, the ponies reach out to Buck—and a beautiful new friendship begins, rooted in trust and God's never-ending love.
This heartwarming, faith-filled story helps children understand that trust is a gift we offer others, and that trusting God is the foundation for courage, healing, and true friendship.
