An Affordable and Effective Therapist for Teachers
The best reason to have this book is to have a colleague who actually knows what it is like to be in the trenches of teaching.
I was impressed with her backstory and even the smart investments she and her husband made.
Although you will hear it from fellow teachers and even admin, it's very satisfying to listen to a seasoned coach how important it is to incorporate "Self Care" into teaching.
I found the personal stories to be so much more relatable than a typical textbook on the psychology of teaching.
If you are a teacher, please know that you MUST take care of yourself and find some resources, such as those found in this book, to avoid burnout.

A good companion for the burned out
I liked this.
If you've experienced burnout – whether as an educator or in another profession – you might find value in this, too! The writer understands the pressures we put on ourselves and offers practical steps for fostering greater well-being.
Each chapter is short and focused, ideal for busy schedules. While primarily geared towards teachers, the advice translates to various life situations.
Particularly useful are the "Invitations" sections, which offer prompts and actionable tips for self-reflection and positive change. Don’t expect groundbreaking revelations, but Hall’s writing offers a gentle reassurance that could inspire a re-evaluation of priorities.
I found this to be a worthwhile listen if you’re ready to address burnout and cultivate a more balanced life. It’s a supportive companion.

A Timely Masterpiece
The book is cleverly structured around 35 compelling stories, each accompanied by a lesson in well-being. These narratives are more than just anecdotes; they are lifelines thrown to teachers submerged in the often-overwhelming demands of their profession. Hall's voice, both compassionate and authoritative, guides the reader through these lessons with the care of a mentor who has walked the path and knows its pitfalls and peaks.

This is what I needed
If you’re feeling a bit burnt out right now, then I really believe this book can help you out. What I liked most about this book was hearing from other people. It let me know that there’s nothing wrong with me, and that I can regain my passion for teaching. The exercises sound really interesting to me as well and I’m eager to give them a shot.
