The story of the main character was partially based upon the life of Oakland entrepreneur "Borax" Smith.

Reader makes great novel deadly dull

Apparently the reader is bored with the book, his narration could be used as anesthesia in pre-op. The background music, at first interesting became repetitive and as boring as the reader. A shame!

The story great. narrator is great. but they added music to it that ruins it nearly.
