About this listen

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to run with wolves… I mean real wolves… wild wolves?

John Ryder does just that. Completely captivated by an old Indian legend, John searches out and joins an extremely elusive wolf pack… But this is no ordinary wolf pack. These wolves have a twisted history and an unparalleled destiny. Together, as a family, they will rule the wilderness and eventually John himself becomes the most efficient killer the forest has ever seen. But everything has a price and in the deepest parts of the wild, blood is the only currency.

Pundits suggest that civilization is ever only two weeks of inconveniences - like no power or functional services - away from reverting to the brutish ways of our ancestors. This story, from new author James Luker, succinctly (and sometimes grusomely) details the protagonist's journey from civilized to primitive in vivid fashion and with terrific imagery.
Despite my preference for sci-fi/fantasy, I was captivated by this realistic survival tale. I feel the narrator performed very well, maintaining the suspension of disbelief throughout. (I know I'm not the only listener who's had an otherwise good story ruined by a not so good narrator).
Overall, this was a credit very well spent and look forward to future works by this author.
