 JR and Sophia have just graduated with their PhD’s in High-Powered Lasers and Ultracapacitors, respectively. Engaged to be married soon, they are hired by the University of Hawaii under a NASA contract to design and build the first Laser Planetary Defense System high atop the Mauna Kea volcano.
