A true warrior's tale!

I have been interested in this story for some time, and finally listened to it now that it's available on audio. Well worth it! The author masterfully develops the two relatable main characters and I like the pace better than many popular writers I've read lately. The narration by AI could be improved but anyone who likes Irish mythology will love this adaptation. I'm downloading the next book now!

Not your same old “fire-breathing dragons” epic fantasy

This title is the first I’ve listened to that uses a virtual reader. Virtual reader technology is actually MUCH better than I anticipated, and in my opinion is better than many paid readers. I’m going to get the next book in the series, so I’m glad the virtual reader is quite acceptable—not discouraging me from carrying on reading the series. The story is unique, based on the Irish legend (mythology?) of the De Dannan, pre-Christian Celts unknown to me heretofore, which is fun because it is not a hash/rehash of the same old tired, overused stories of warring ancients. The story is complex, introducing a host of supernatural yet relatable characters with surprisingly original superpowers. I’ll be watching for the entire series and more from Seph Ronden and Thomas Stout.
