About this listen

Back in the 1950's and 60's, Orrie Hitt was a prolific writer of romance novels. The "hanky panky" in his novels is tamer and less explicit than in many of today's romance novels, but the storylines were incredibly engaging. His characters are so fully developed that you either love them, hate them or pity them. The website Criminal Element called Hitt “the Shakespeare of Shabby Street".

In this novel, overworked and underpaid Danny O'Conner decides to take a little vacation at a resort, then decides to stay and work there. He soon becomes involved with three women, a lot of intrigue, and a great deal of danger.

You may recognize the voice of the narrator of this book as one you've heard in a commercial or in a Youtube ad. "Jeffrey Brown" is actually a state-of-the-art "AI" voice (artificial intelligence voice). Although quite advanced and easy to listen to, we suggest you listen to the sample before purchasing to be sure you will enjoy this straightforward reading. JIMCIN has also produced Hitts' Untamed Lust, narrated by the very human and experienced Jim Roberts, and will soon be releasing Naked Lust. Whatever you decide, thank you for listening.

An "A. I." narrator.Holy Crap!

This is the second book I've listened to, narrated by "Jeffrey Brown." I gave him a good review for the first book, because I like narrators who just read the book intelligently and don't try to "act it out." Imagine my surprise, when I read the descirpton of this book, which said that Jeffrey was, in fact, an A. I. voice! Wholly crap! A. I. voices have cetainly improved immensely since Siri, Alexa and "Google voice."
In the first book, I thought "Jeffrey" was straightforward and not very emotional but I would never have guessed he ( or it ) was a computer generatd voice, Technology is starting to get a bit scary!
Anyway, I sitll like "Jeffrey", and have to wonder how many other narrators are actually A. I. voices. If they are anything like Jeffrey, it would be very hard to tell.
As for the book....It was the usual Orrie Hitt...well written, good charactor development and, like the last one, ( Sin Doll ) it quickly drew me in to it's 1950ish world. Good "escapist" story and, considering what is happening in the word today, a welcome few hours in another time.
