About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Veronica McCreedy returns in the delightfully feel-good new audiobook from the number one best-selling author of Away with the Penguins - sure to become a firm favourite with listeners!

Meet the heroine everyone's talking about....

Fiercely resilient and impeccably dressed, Veronica McCreedy has lived an incredible 87 years. Most of them alone, in her huge house by the sea.

But Veronica has recently discovered a late-life love for family and friendship, adventure and wildlife.

More specifically, a love for penguins!

And so when she's invited to co-present a wildlife documentary, far away in the southern hemisphere, she jumps at the chance.

Even though it will put her in the spotlight, just when she thought she would soon fade into the wings.

Perhaps it's never too late to shine?

Emotional and real

I loved the first book in this series, and this one is no different. The characters are grounded and keep you rooting for them the entire time, and though circumstances and a pointed environmental critique made this a more heartbreaking read at times, it was thoroughly enjoyable and worth the listen.

Entertaining Sequel

I enjoyed this sequel; it was fun to revisit Veronica and the other characters. The author makes a good point about plastics in the environment; hope people take heed to the dangers it poses to wildlife.

Delightful

I enjoyed this sequel to How The Penguins Saved Veronica. I don’t know how much there is left of Veronica’s story but I genuinely liked the follow up. I’ll just leave it at that.

Lovely schmaltz

An excellent read that wasn’t completely predictable. Some parts are utter Hallmark Chanel and other honest introspection.
Characters that are self judging still ready to keep trying.

I loved this book!

This book and its for runner, How the Penguins Saved Veronica, may also have saved me. Instead of feeling depressed about the world situation, I feel inspired to do something about the tragic situation the world is in because of human waste and negligence. I believe this should be required reading in all schools . I hope this author writes yet another sequel! I want to thank her for the wonderful contribution she has made to the world. I don’t know if it would be possible to make a movie with these characters; but it would also be amazing to see. Thank you all!

Lovely feel good well -written novel

I have loved every book by this author. I have been an attorney for many years and am always dealing with a lot of stressful situations with people (understandably) at their very worst. Hazel Prior’s books always recenter me and inspire me to appreciate the good in people. Sounds sappy but true. Please keep on writing Ms. Prior!!!

Character growth

I was hoping to hear the same narrators from book 1, but eventually got used to the new voices.
