About this listen

Get ready for another Sullivan bad boy to fall in love in the third book of Bella Andre's bestselling contemporary romance series!

Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire... and can't stop thinking about.

Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving - and losing - a man with a dangerous job again.

Only, when Gabe and Megan meet again and uncontrollable flames of desire ignite between them, how can he possibly ignore her courage, determination, and beauty? And how can she deny not only his strong bond with her daughter - but the way his sweetly sensual kisses are challenging her to risk everything she's been guarding for so long?

This winter, if one - or both - of them aren't careful, they just might end up falling in love.

Mmmmmm...gotta love a firefighter

Setting: San Francisco, contemporary
Genre: Romance
Narration: Eva Kaminsky continues to give a fine performance.
This is the 3rd in The Sullivans series. The plots in this series continue to improve with each book. The plot is related in 3rd person alternating between Gabe and Megan's point of view. In this one, Gabe Sullivan is a firefighter who, in the opening scene, rescues Megan and her daughter Summer from their apartment during a 3 alarm fire. The three meet more formally at the hospital where Gabe is recovering from an injury sustained during that fire. Summer immediately begins a steady hero-worship of Gabe, and does whatever she can to see him, dragging her mother along. Gabe is wary of getting involved with a fire victim due to a relationship that went bad in his past. He is attracted to Megan, but she, too, has issues related to men who take risks. She is the widow of a Navy fighter pilot who died while flying a small, privately owned plane. The plot takes place over several months, so there's a slower build-up in the relationship. Gabe puts his wariness aside and begins to pursue Megan, and soon declares his love. But, though they become lovers, Megan is loath to let go of her fears. She is afraid that if she lets herself love him, it would be too devastating if he went out to fight a fire and never came home. This is a sweet story with a side of steam. The sex isn't graphic enough to fall into the erotica category, and the only violence has to do with a couple of fires. This is the best of the 3 I've re listened to so far.
Worth the credit, for sure.

Now, off to #4, Sophie's story.

Firefighters know how to handle all kinds of fire

What did you love best about Can't Help Falling in Love?

I liked the story. It was easy to follow and you could identify with the characters. A very good love story. Fighting sadness from your past is something I can identify with. I like the family interactions between the Sullivans. I will listen to all of the books but since all are not available at this time, will have to read part of the series first. Hopefully, soon, all of them will be on audible and I can have a whole weekend of Sullivan brothers and sisters. The narration was very good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

That sexy fireman, Gabe. Who else would it be. I liked Megan of course but really, Gabe would be hard to resist as a favorite. Liked his whole character and not just the sexy part. Her daughter Summer is a good character also and I liked her part in this story.

Which scene was your favorite?

The rooftop scene where they watch the fireworks on New Years.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I liked it.

Any additional comments?

Really wish that all this series was already on audible although the last book is not out as yet.

Story lines just keep getting better

I'm with the other reviewers who have noticed that the story lines in this series just keep getting better. The reluctant widow (Megan) who doesn't want to get involved with another man in a risky job (Gabe- the firefighter) is a surprisingly endearing plot that is well crafted. I found myself listening even when I wasn't commuting just to find out what was going to happen next. On to book 4!

Always Heartfelt Romantic-The Sullivans

What did you love best about Can't Help Falling in Love?

Oh my! I don't know how she keeps the romance and plot fresh as she writes book after book, but Bella Andre has the magic touch.

I loved every minute of this listen from the action to the angst. The unworthiness that Gabe Sullivan feels and the gratitude that Megan Harris feels for the firefighter who saves the lives of both she and her daughter.

It is, as another reviewer noted "another winner from Bella Andre."

Eva Kaminsky is a 5+ star narrator, allowing the imagination to run wild at the same time.
