All hail to the West Coast, where its natural resources of breathtaking beaches, smokable trees, and beautiful women are unlimited. From the freezing top of Mt. Denali in Alaska to the fly-ass architectural marvel of California's Golden Gate Bridge, the region is one of the most desirable places to visit on Earth. But for a problematic girl like Temper Chey, it's a prison, and she's dying to be freed.

Perhaps Temper's longing to escape is a result of being raised on a road less traveled in an area of South Central Los Angeles, where tourism is obsolete and gang banging and dope slanging reign supreme. Or maybe it's because of the widespread enigma of "the only way out the hood is over a 30-foot wall". If this hood proverb is true, then being born half Black and half Asian should've given her a 10-foot ladder as a head start.

Will her brief escapade with one of the most infamous Crip kingpins force her to twist, toss, and burn her exit plans? Will she give up on the promise she made to her uncle to "bust her ass" to get those missing 20 feet? Or will the chaos be the defibrillator that revives her and provides an escalator ride to freedom?

It was a really cool story, it definitely took me on a unexpected entertaining ride. I was really happy that Temper got a second chance at life and loving her son.

Out of all of Carl Weber’s Kingpins’ series, this one IS one of my favorites! The storyline was surprisingly superb and the plot was unforeseen and a real “who done it”! It was very interesting and compelling!!!💋

Man, this was a great listen. It had so many twists and turns. AND the tale leading to the ending had me sitting still just waiting for the next thing. A superb listen by far. Totally recommend.

I thoroughly enjoy Raynesha's writing style and storytelling. I have read a few of her works starting with DogFood (a classic in it's time).
Raynesha has mastered weaving her characters together creating a circle u do t realize until she connects the dots. this is a quality that most authors lack, especially when their work is being read by a fellow author. I was left in a state of awe in the end and what I thought was the connection between her characters was waaay off. (Bravo!)

This is the worst one in the series. So confusing I’ve started it over 5 times then just let it play because I was working and didn’t have time to deal with it but I was not satisfied. At all. Absolutely disappointed
