About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Terri Anne Browning's The Rocker comes a new adult series, The Lucy & Harris Novella Series.

Lucy

So yeah, my dad is a rock star; he's the drummer for Demon's Wings. Big whoop. Honestly, the fame that comes with having a famous dad is not all that you think it might be. It sucks. You have no privacy. Oh yeah, and don't let me forget about the lunatics that want to do who-knows-what to you just to get famous. When I leave the house every morning I feel like my life isn't my own. Between the paparazzi, the fans, my bodyguard, and everything else, I feel like I'm part of the freak show in the circus most days. It wasn't always like this, though. I didn't always feel like this. Once upon a time I had a best friend who helped me deal with this life that we both belonged to.

Harris

So yeah, my dad is a rock star; he's the drummer for OtherWorld. And Lucy was and always will be the only girl to ever know the real me. She was my best friend, my voice of reason. My sanity. Maybe she outgrew me. But I will never outgrow her. It's been years since I've seen her, and I miss her so damn bad. All I want is a chance to get back what we've lost, to have my best friend in my life again. I wasn't counting on how grown-up my friend might have gotten, how beautiful she is now. The more time I spend with this new Lucy, I have to wonder if I really want that old friendship back...or if I want much, much more.

Male narrator...

I love the story but when the male narrator does female dialog he makes them sound like whiny children, it's awful! I tried to ignore it but it takes away from the story.

Good start to this series!

This was a shorter audiobook story that is a spin-off of the author’s previous rockstar series. I enjoyed the story about the daughter of one of the Demons Wings rockers who was best friend with the son of another rocker from the group. They were really close when they were kids, but as the heroine, Lucy, got older she started to realize that she was falling in love with Harris, who is 4 years older. She pushed him away and distanced herself, but he comes back into her life determined not to let go. It will be interesting to see how her dad will react in the next audiobook, as he’s super over-protective! Narration was well done. Looking forward to starting the rest of the story!

Love the story but not the narrator

Where does Catching Lucy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Love these characters and love the story. Waited a long time to hear it, was sad that some of the narrative made Lucy’s IQ drop when it shouldn’t have.

What other book might you compare Catching Lucy to and why?

This whole series is awesome, I wanted to hear the story and it was a bit of a let down but I still got them all. Maybe the narrator will do better on other books.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

When the female voice changed to make her sound like she was stupid and I noticed it only happened when Harris’ telling us the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Just knowing the background of these characters helped because we loved them as children and now see them grown up.

Any additional comments?

Hope this isn’t the same narrator for the other series Tainted Knights.

I like the story but not the narrators.

I am so glad to finally get to Lucy & Harris’ story. The story is good, but these are just he wrong narrators. The male narrator is good, except for his female whiny voice. The female is just all wrong. She sounds too slow, even at 1.25 speed, plus she sounds too old for being a teenager. I guess I will grit my teeth so I can make it through the rest of the series.

Need new audible readers for both m/f parts

The story is really good. it's just listening to it can be challenging. The female reader makes the female characters sound like they are slow speaking duds. The male reader makes the female characters sound like pissed off men trying to sound female.. it is quite annoying.

Excellent Short Story

Loved this story. It is typical, but not. The story of young love reunited is always questionable as to how it will turn out. Will my best friend still be my best friend later in life. Can we just pick up where we left off. The narrators were excellent as well. Looking forward to more.

Quick intro

This is a quick intro to the series of Harris and Lucy picking up when their all grown up mostly and the start of their reunion. Narrators do a great job.
