About this listen

Things weren't so peachy in Cathy's life before she and her boyfriend Victor broke up. Her father died unexpectedly, she's failing school, and her best friend Emma is mad at her. But when Cathy decides to investigate Victor's reasons for ending their relationship, things suddenly go from bad to very, very, very bad as her findings produce more questions than answers.

Through Cathy's unique and irresistible voice, listeners will enter a strange and fascinating world where things often aren't how they appear.

Good job, for the most part

Any additional comments?

I loved reading the physical copy of the book, so I was curious to hear the audio book. The only reason I gave four stars for the performance was that the valley girl accent got too much sometimes. I mean, I know that Cathy is supposed to be cynical, but seriously. The valley girl voice got tiring.

Worth listening to

What did you love best about Cathy's Book?

The story itself and the background sounds ie (shoes clicking on pavement, computer keys being typed ex.).

What other book might you compare Cathy's Book to and why?

I honestly have no idea what book I would compare this to, other then the others in this series.

Have you listened to any of Laura Flanagan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, first time

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I could

Any additional comments?

First off, I rarely write reviews.. I was at my local library in the used book section when I can across book 2 and 3 in the Cathy series for 1$ each. Previously I heard about this series from a book review on YouTube. At first I thought this was going to be a series way to young for me ( I'm over 30). However I quickly got into the story and was itching to find out more. I found myself very caught up in the story and all the developments . I felt like a fly on the wall following Cathy on her adventures.. I have read some reviews for this book and have to disagree that this was crappy book with a horrible predictable story line. I'm sure I'm not the only reader out there who purposely tries not to analyze the crap out of a book I'm reading. Reading for me is an escape. I've always had the ability to read and visually put myself there and in the situations. .. I think this is definitely worth reading or listening to the audiobook.

Yay! Sean Stewart!

So glad to be reading this under-appreciated author again. Would love to see more of his books available on Audible. Though I am far from the target age group for this book, I fully enjoyed it. The performance and the soundscape created for it were first-rate.

Cathy's Stupid Book

What a joke of a story-line? Was this supposed to for little kids? If so, why all the drug references? If not, then was this suppose to be some kind of mystery? I just didn't get it. A waste of five and a half hours.... Just a silly pointless book.
