About this listen

Making something off-limits will always make that thing more appealing. Jules Warren, my sister’s best friend, was no different. She has been the leading lady in every fantasy I’ve had, since I was a teenager. There was no way I was turning her down when she invited me into her room. Those fantasies? They had nothing on the real thing.

I was given the weekend to make my dreams come true. The ramifications, however, will last a lifetime.

Keeping a secret is one thing. Living with the lie is impossible.

CEASE FIRE!

Couldn't put it down, not as action-packed as the other stories leading up. I still loved it!

Quirky, Thunderous Orgasms', Family Hugs

This whole series is all about family. The various definitions, and shapes that families can take. It crosses all the familiar lines and makes new connections to where it brings back to base of family. This book is about the lies we tell our selves when we are trying to move forward, and that we sometimes should have followed the left path vs. going right. It's about being adult enough to admit your mistakes, and its about going for what you really want and really need in our personal lives, and making it happen. The goal is the finish line, not just the pot of gold at the finish line.

Love Kit but ❤️

Jules is ridiculous. I guess that's the point... these books are suppose to make you feel. I feel like telling Jules she's an idiot. Of course you get a happy ending ... but she didn't deserve it. 😡

Love this series - really don’t like Jules

What a f’d up female - I really did not and do not empathize or sympathize with Jules - what a selfish bit%*. I love Brooks and Kit and really felt bad for them both with this story. What she asked if Brooks and did to Kit was totally f’d up. No reason or excuse justify what she did. Ugh. I love this story and these characters with the exception of this story. I would listen to the story if you wish to continue with the other books because of what happens with the other characters in the coming stories but I was so angry with what Jules did and how selfish- really selfish this female is and totally manipulative.

Ugh, Jules is the worst

I’ve read the series several times and Jules is my least favorite character, selfish and manipulative. Everytime, I just want to shake her and tell her to get over herself. Kit deserves so much better. But… everything came out and, in the end, they were able to get past her lies. What she tried with Brooks, though… makes me want to punch her all over again…

Love and Be Loved is Timeless

Suspense and Disappointment throughout the Missteps of Falling in Love. The performance was well executed.

Hard to get through.

Absolutely love this series. Can’t wait for the next one. Hated the female lead. So selfish and manipulative. Made the story hard to get through.

Awful femaie lead

I have loved this entire series until this one. The female lead is an awful, selfish, lying human and her best friend isn't much better. The two men letting her manipulate them into lying to everyone is just ridiculous. I've always loved Puff but he's for sure my favorite in this story because the main characters in this one are getting on my nerves!

My Thoughts on Cease Fire

This must be one of the most unique stories Marie James has ever written. And she seems to be writing something fresh and new all the time in my opinion. But this is the first time I found myself not loving both main characters. I adored Kit. He was absolutely amazing. Jules on the other hand had me scratching my head at times wondering what Kit saw in her. She showed occasional glimpses of vulnerability, loneliness, and a desire to be loved that I was able to understand and helped soften my dislike of her a bit. Those moments however were usually surrounded by moments of selfishness and Kit hurting so it was really hard to hang onto those warm feelings. I kept reading however and hoped that Marie James would at least give me the kind of ending I always look forward to with her and as usual she didn’t disappoint. I’m sad that we only have one more book left but I’m sure it will be as well done as the rest of the series.
The narration once again too this story to a whole new level. Both narrators gave such a good performance and really brought the characters to life. I still adore Callie Dalton even if I didn’t love Jules this time. And as usual I loved Jacob Morgan just as much as I loved Kit.
