About this listen

À propos de ce titre :
Prix Goncourt 2016.

Escabroso, lento y humano. Me recordoó Crimen y

Tres noire

because autocorrect destroys my attempts to write in French, it's English you get. Despite the revelation of the outcome from the start, the story is knit together in a most haunting way. How well does anyone know those with whom they entrust the care of their children? The narrator is excellent.

Slow and uneven: few beautifully written sections

Far from the American standards of the page-turner thriller, Chanson Douce portrays the slow and venomous path to Hell of a seemingly perfect nanny. The candor of the characters made for some painful chapters. The complaisance from both parents carry an unfathomable weight all throughout the book and the end will leave you with more questions than answers. Last chapter is beautifully written. The rest is long, very long.
